Much has been written, much has been said and just as much has been played about the story of Tristan and Isolt, yet no matter how beautiful and important it is, it is never enough!
This beautiful album by ensemble Alla Francesca, conducted by Brigitte Lesne and Pierre Hamon, was recorded in 2004 at the Chapelle de l'École Sainte-Geneviève, Versailles, France.
The program presented consists in the elaboration of the monophonic lai contained in the 13th century Viennese manuscript, together with two Italian dances and some compositions of the ensemble.
The result is truly splendid.
