Thanks for the Tristar review. I'm a long time CZ fan, they're far and away my favorite pistol line. After giving the C100 a chance I'm blown away. It's about the same size and weight of a Glock 19, however, the fit and finish are much better. It also points more naturally and absorbs recoil much better. I paid around $200 less than a Glock, really the Glock should be $200 less than the Tristar.
Tristar puts out excellent hand guns. I have the T&P-100s ant the fit and finish is excellent. As a matter of fact my CZ P-01 shows the same wear on the rails and barrel as your P-120 and the inside of the frame is not finished as the Tristar are. I'm looking to buy the P-120 and your review really help me a lot. Thank you.
Really appreciate the review, been looking for more on these. With CZ grips and some true-glows as well as a Cajun Gun Works tristar upgrade kit, this will be an awesome bit of kit.
Going fast I'm all 19 in about 3 to 4 inches. Going slow at 10 yards I'm under an inch with maybe 1 flyer, but I'm happy with that considering I can't hardly feel my hands!!! Also I paid 375 in the time of covid
Rami fp spring 14lb main spring and trim length to match original Trim 1/8 off the plunger spring Now you will have a 3 to 3.5lb trigger on par with a slick 1911 match trigger it's nearly effortless Can be done for under $20 on czcustoms
Cz finished pretty much the same , functionality is king as you stated and of course accuracy. K , I bought the p100 in 40 sw and out shoots most guns in its class even glock 23 gen 4 . For roughly $ 150 less new in the box . I was amazed with recoil and accuracy. Folks have caught on to these pistols and availability is not there as It was a few months ago . Good luck finding them in any model . That tells me the quality is there and At the cz level .
Ed, Excellent review! I have one of the P-100 and the C-100. Why these two? They go well with my CZ75B and EAA witness both full size, all 4 in 9mm. All have been unfailingly reliable. I think when the competition gun crowd discover these (as they did the Tanfoglio years ago) the price will move vertically. Undervalued is an oft used word but really fits here.Lastly, I think you hit the nail on the head with your "high value" comment. Not the best, just the best value.
My biggest issue with these is that the manual safety can actuate if the hammer is manually decocked. The original CZ75 was meant to either be carried cocked and locked or decocked ready to go. I always manually decock my CZ, not as difficult as some would have you believe, and ready for immediate defense.
Absolutely. And potentially even more with higher-grain rounds. We usually estimate about 1 ounce for every 2 9mm rounds as a rule of thumb. With the 19-rounder added to the 41oz unloaded, that's a potential 51 ounces!!
Can you make/post a video showing which CZ and CZ Clone magazines interchange with each other. CZ, Baby Eagle, Canik, TriStar, Rock Island............................ Talk about each combination and review reliability, fit and function. Thanks.
RTPPaintball If we had all those firearms to verify compatibility, we'd gladly make that video. As of right now, that's unfortunately not something we're able to produce. Sorry. Thanks for watching, though!
Do you still shot this guy in 2016? How do you like the TriStar P-120 today: any malfunctions, hiccups, more serious issues? Do you know of handguns of better value and quality? What are your thoughts of polymer frame guns vs steel frame guns for range shooting, tactical use? Thumbs up!
No hiccups whatsoever. It's still a solid shooter and if you're after a 9mm in this size and weight -- which adds to its shootability, accuracy, and recreational value -- it's hard to find better value for money, in my opinion. The trigger isn't perfect, but it's good in single action. We recently picked up TriStar's C-100, and will have a review forthcoming. Spoiler alert: also fantastic, arguably a better buy due to its versatility, but it really comes down to your intended usage. (They also have the compact P-100, which combines the smaller size with the railed design of the P-120.) -Ed
I bought a P120 a couple of months ago and really liked the way it looked and everything on it functioned superbly BUT by the time i had gone through a couple of mags the web of my firing hand was badly bruised because of hammer bite. Has anyone else experienced this with this weapon. I love the trigger and ease of racking but I haven't fired this gun since because of this problem. Can anyone suggest a solutions
That's actually a common misconception. They have some similarities in cosmetics, but they're entirely different. Two of the major difference being that the Hi Power is single action only and the CZ 75 is single/double. Also, the Hi Power slide rides outside the frame while the CZ rides inside the frame. Both are awesome guns though and the Browning actually lends itself to concealed carry a little better as it's slightly slimmer and the grip is slightly shorter than the CZ 75.
I am from Turkey , honestly dont buy Turkish hand guns they are made bad buy CZ , jericho and EAA witness dont buy Turkish products , in USA CZ 75 b is msrp: 612 $ and CZ 75 SP-01 is : 680 $ so why l buy TURKİSH MADE SAR or Canik ,
