I have a Tristar CXL and a older Compact electra C8 both are outstanding cleaners but i use VAC hepa bags in the cloth liner .Also the original motor is smaller than the IEC CXL
Excellent vacuums, love mine! You actually put a far superior motor in there, much better than that single stage one! I would recommend you replace the exhaust filter though, seems to be full of motor carbon dust. I’ve actually successfully washed those before. Just dish soap and water and scrub it with your hands. But they’re pretty cheap at vac shops. Great video!
Thank you. I was wondering why the filter was so dark, And it never occurred to me until now that you mentioned it. So thank you for the tip. I'm definitely not an expert with vacuums but people need to start learning that they can fix thing and this is why I made this video. Cheers
@@mjlrestorationshop.2405 Awesome! Yeah i’d definitely replace it, it should be white. Also if you haven’t I would wash the cloth bag that you insert the paper bag into, they get clogged up with dust over time. Common reason people bring in TriStars is because they have low power and it’s often because that bag is filthy. The paper bags leak a lot of dust through and over time it clogs up, which sometimes leads to premature motor wear.
Thanks for the video. I love my Tristar Mg1 and silver bullet. I have noticed that you are using yours without inner paper liner/bag and that may have reduced the life of the motor.
You are welcome, I hope it helps someone who had the same issues as me. Most of the time I use the inner paper filters. Some time I run out 🤦♂️ Cheers
My beater bar and bearings are going after 25 years what a rip off…..kidding I challenge anyone to show me a vacuum that has not had a one issue in 25 years. It is the best investment I’ve ever maid pun intended.
Thank you for saving me 100’s $$$ where might I find the motor? or …..if my bearings are going is that the same as motor going more or less? I could google for the answer but wanted to ask you?
I don't know where you are in the world. But here in my city in Canada I've got 2 vacuum repair shops i could have gotten a motor from , Amazon.ca or Ebay also have them , Just research "replacement motor tristar a101g" I was going to buy a new motor from one, but then I did a quick research on Facebook market place and found a complete vacuum for 20$🤣, and that where I got mine. Cheers, hope it helps
