It's growing on you, ha. I knew it. Told ya, a LOT of guys love this bike more than anyhthing. You can boost the power 10 hp with a bit of airflow and jetting, CDI and the usual stuff... but on this bike it all badly needs improving. I'm totally enjoying this. I have an 863 speedmaster, same bike, actually same as yours now you changed it. I don't lack power. I ride about at 2500 rpm which is max torque, and if i wind it out, I go to about 4500 rpm if I'm pushing hard. Feels like a lot, but not when I get off my stroker that needs rpm in each gear. Ride it like that and it sucks. Very forgiving motor. Trouble free for 150,000km's. Some things will break, rectifier, battery, that's it. It's as easy to work on as an Enflield, and you clearly love those bikes, so this is a nice step up for you, if you ask me.
Hi, thanks for some of the best videos on this channel with out doubt ,compulsive and very interesting you are a real craftsman, just wanted to know if the orange bobber is finished ? Was it undercover on the ramp in this video I was very much looking forward to see completed and running cheers.
I have an fz/mt09 and any time I jump on my 250 dual sport or my pile of a Sportster I feel like I’m riding a pedal bike trying to pass people, I quite enjoy the slower bikes but boy is it nice to have all the power you want when you want it.
I used to own an 04 Triumph Thruxton. I increased the power by 10bhp bythe simple method of removing the airbox and fitting a free flowing exhaust. 56 to 66bhp at the back wheel on a dyno. Fit a big bore kit and flat slide carbs and you get closer to 90bhp, of course it costs but it's probably worth it.
Well I have to it looks a lot better now the triumph and blue biting the trye was hilarious and his sad looking face at the beginning of the he cracks me up a right comedy team lol
Ahhh yer getting old Craig. “Big comfy seat, Nice position on the handlebars and my slippers resting on the foot pegs with my legs stretched out so I don’t wrinkle my cord slacks” 😂😂 It’s looking great mate and a perfect Sunday morning breakfast run cruiser! Shiny side up. Channel just gets better and better.
Buys the flashest cruiser ever then proceeds to make it into something totally different, but that's what some of us do. looks much better with those mudguard supports in black. Maybe tip the back of the mufflers up a couple inches? Will the new speedo fit in the clock hole? Thanks Craig.
This Triumph is beginning to grow on me as well. Your rough description of possible mods has got me cheering you on. Happy Trails on your ride with the mates. 👍🏼 😎 🇺🇸 🌎
My Mastive 145lbs would bite tires to kill, anything from hand truck to16' 8ply while moving AND PUNCHURE ALL. I ran him over with Pinto while he had a grip, HE WAS FINE,REALLY!
Looking good and sounds really fruity! I hope you’ve told your insurance company about all the mods you’ve made, Craig, because they can be bastards if you don’t...
I never thought I'd see the day when you got ideas from the Big DB; rattle can satin black everywhere (I bet it's tough black😋), messing with the height, and, more importantly, it's a red Triumph. I predict that you'll start by saying you're doing great things to change the bike, but it'll rapidly change direction to become a shonky old rat bike conversion, mainly sue to loss of any metal working skill.😁😁😁😋😋😉
Those bar end mirrors are surprisingly good but I would use some medium thread lock on the screws as they tend to wander off at 70 mph... Those small changes have made quite a big, and positive impact on the look of her. I think the black would work well with Land Rover Firenze red.
Do you still have the foot boards ? If so would you sell them , I have a speedmast with spares like engine cases in black if you fancy them , keep up the good work love the videos
Ha ha- I know the feeling- I ended up with two Bonnie variants! (well 3 if I include my wifes!) ones gone/going full on custom hardtail...the daily ride....hmmm well that's not completely escaped my meddling either......my recent vids are a complete mess around with it!!!
@@THEDOGHOUSECUSTOMMOTORCYCLES Johnny just fitted some very nice miniature indicators to his bike, the sort your looking for, very nice. I like the way your going with the build, Keep it up.
Good stuff on a side note watching you and mat has given me the confadence to change my disastrous engine so makes a good motorcycle again 125cc but at the moment it is what it is mabe next year the L plats can come off and i look at getting a 600cc yamaha thundercat but like everything its down to money and time good stuff with the videos great stuff :)
Great job, and I would like to have a go! But as they say, You can only put so much lipstick on a pig. The patterns must have been well shot before they cast those cases. In India these motors can be fixed absolutely anywhere, and they seem to go on forever. No parts are ever scrapped unless they are totally destroyed, even then they are made into something else. You have to admire the ingenuity in their recycling GLAD my days there are over !,,
I have an America, I love what you have done with this. I like the red with the black. You're obviously more mechanical than me . I would be interested in those old floor boards if you're flogging them?
Great looking work on the bike friend. But, I have to know specifics on those pipes, please. They sound awesome! I have a 2015 America, and the only thing I don't like is it sounds like a sewing machine. lol please help. Cheers
blue has an allergy, my friend. might be worth researching. not to presume you haven't. just that my bullys have gotten sad with theirs. much love to blue and bodi! big fan of yours, mate!! happy every time i get a notice that youve made another post. carry on please, good sir!! cheers!
Craig, like what you are doing to the Triumph, all the black is right on, red has to go please, as for the motorway riding maybe a larger sprocket on the gearbox end and a smaller sprocket on the back wheel might help.
Great video. So did you lower the bike by changing the shocks? Did you lower the front end also? I'm curious because I'm interested in lowering my bike, but I don't know how.
Really wasnt a fan of this either to start with but this is why I love you man and trust you with my build, you SO understand 'lines'.....the rear end was hideous.....that back fender....but.....by simply shaving off the offending curve of the fender, with the bike in profile now just look how well the line of the petrol tank underside works with the line of the rear fender!......sorted matey!
Sorry Graig for bothering you but I have been working on a 04 Speedmaster for sometime now as I could not put it on the road when purchased as although it came with full mot it was quite horrendous when it was delivered. My stupid fault for not viewing before buying, the cardinal sin. Anyway finally finished and first impressions are very suspect. It feels very much like you are driving on a razor blade, ive checked everything, tyre pressures etc but it feels like it doesnt change direction to responsively and doesnt give me any confidence. I know its a cruiser, but ive had alot of chops, hardtails, softails but this seems weird. Any advise would be a major help as I have thrown everything I know at this bike and really do not want to give up.
She's looking *much* better with the black paint. I'm kind of liking the red more now, though. Although I'd probably go with a bit of a deeper blood red. I think the seat is still a bit too much. Needs some of it's love handles taking out. Otherwise, I agree with you, it is growing on me. I really like everything from the tank backwards (except for the seat). The tail is now one of her best features, where it was her worst to start with. I'm quite excited to see where you go with this, and if you'll end up keeping her. I can see 800cc being a sticking point for you though. I had an XJR 1300 for years that has totally spoiled me for smaller bikes now. That power got me *out* of more trouble than it got me into. An 800 would be like riding a 125 again :) Anyway, like what you've done, Craig. Stay safe.
Craig you can't fool anyone "I don't think I will go full custom on this" I'm calling bullshit on that statement. You know you will you can't help yourself lol
Nice modification you have there. Like how you spray the chrome console for the blinker indicator black. It's actually have a very bad reflection in chrome.
be surprised with how the seeming lack of power isn't a problem pretty quickly, more a case of adapting to the bike and learning how it works best, more than capable of motorway work, no bad thing to be off fast bikes anyway with all the speed cameras and heavy traffic on main roads now, find the sweet spot and roll on the torque
Just watched this again .not going any where soon going to the north east plenty lovely country roads up hear think it will just be right I have a vfr 750 totaly different 👍❤
