The Mercury Comet automobile runs durability tests at Daytona Racetrack. Features a motion picture record of a dramatic test of automotive performance and durability. Shows four comets traveling the world's fastest track for a distance record of 100,000 miles at an average speed of more than 105 miles per hour.

My dad had a '64 Comet when I was a kid... I had a chance to buy one twenty years ago, but I didn't want to trade in my Coupe DeVille for it.

Not even the European companies, Mercedes, Audi and Subaru (I know Japan) have tried to break this record and all fell flat on their faces.
