Triumph Bonneville, Hagon Nitro Piggyback shocks and progressive fork springs, full review! 

Do they do the piggyback rear shocks for a T120. I've looked on the website and cant find any piggyback shocks for anything

Did the same mod to a BMW R80 any years ago progressive fork springs and remote reservoir rear shock it transformed the bike. From the point of view of safety as well as riding satisfaction it would be number 1 on the list of mods for me. Great videos I look forward every week to you posting this series.

Just to add weight to your argument (and you'll already know all this) but I have fitted the Hagon Performance Springs to the front end of my T120 and oh my goodness what a difference. Loved the video. Been gone so just catching up and as usual learned something valuable and useful. I'll be looking for the Silkolene FS5 for my next change this fall. I've made the same mods to my Bonny a few months ago, but using TEC parts (my budget is a bit constrained). However, the greatest change came when I added YSS emulators a month later. Then I truly rode with that smile as you now have!

The front and rear shock upgrade is the best thing you can do on these bikes, I went with Wilber’s, and they transformed the bike. Replacing the OEM Rubber was the next thing to change the handling for the better. Your explanation on the fork oil is very interesting, especially as I had used the same make and type.

Great review Stuart, have used Hagon components on a variety of bikes in the past and must say they offer superb value for money. As you quite righty say this is the best performance mod you can make in improving the way a bike feels.... You can,t beat that lovely connected to the tarmac feel. I would heartedly recommend a visit to their shop down in my old home county of Essex, where they have some lovely old machines on display including Alf,s old record breaking sprint machine. I installed Hagon Nitros on my T100 well over 80,000 kilometers ago and they have lasted well. agree with stuart, feel stiff when just commuting around but on fast bendy roads with bumpy surfaces or just going along at 80 kph or more the rear wheel stays planted. as far as fork oil, Castrol with 5, 10 and 15 have the ISO corresponding viscosities in centistokes in fine print on the back of the bottle, (at least here in Australia anyway) being a standardised measure of oil weights. knowing that I use the equivalent hydraulic oil such as Bartran super clean in the ISO viscosity equivalent. heaps cheaper than fork oil, which incidently is re-branded hydraulic oil.

You've converted me Stewart.I will be changing out my suspension fluid this summer as a matter of maintenance . prior to your video I would only change when the seals leaked.

Great video thanks so much I have a 2011 t100 efi air cooled 865 cc and when I got it used it had terrible china no name rear shocks that were set so wrong anyways after adjusting them i still was terribly unhappy with suspension So I purchased rear progressive 13.5inch 412 shocks for about 290$ USA $ and installed them and immediately what a difference I have them set to #4 on adjustment and so far so good still can go up to #5 if i need to so anyways I now Im going to do the front end with progressive springs I believe this bike will change drastically with new fork springs !!!!!!! Right now it rides nice but u can still feel something is missing actually had to hit front brake pretty hard last night on a ride and I deff felt them bottom out. Im hopping the new front springs and fork oil change will give this bike the improvement it needs to be the machine its designed to be

Wow, as usual a great video. You really laid out the modifications and results very well. I had no idea about the intricacies of fork oil. My request/question is for a video direct comparison of the handling of the T100 as now set up against your T120 as now set up. I realize from your comment below that you did a comparison of the two bikes previously, however, I would like to see one regarding the handling as the T120 is supposed to have better handling from from better frame geometry. Additionally, when you did the shock spring upgrade to the T120 you did not change out the oil, so next question, is will you now put the RSF5 oil in the T120? My recollection is that the T120 spring change had two springs versus the one spring for the T100, am I incorrect? Once again, thank you.

I once knew a fellow that built Bonneville choppers. He would coat the insides of his down pipes with axel grease and they would not turn blue from heat. Thought you might like to know.

Hello, I'm watching his videos. Thank you for sharing your impressions and experiences. I have a 2015 Bonnie T100 865. I'm looking for rear shock absorbers that offer more riding comfort. I take long trips and Brazilian roads have terrible asphalt. The original dampers make the bike very hard and I feel unpleasant bumps at every imperfection on the road. As I understand it, you liked the result of the HAGON shock absorbers. Did they provide more comfort? A smoother ride? What about the front suspension? Do you recommend changing the fork springs? What brand and model? Congratulations on the channel and thanks in advance for the help. Grettings from Brazil.

Anyone buying a motorbike that you have owned would be getting a good bike with a decent riders bike and a much improved and broader spectrum of use top job stuart

Hagon Nitros and progressive springs transformed my Scrambler. Well worth doing. Not sure about changing the fork oil every year though.

brilliant vid stu this one been my favorite , have a like from me , altho would have been nice to have gone into a bit more depth such as the rear pre load, pricing and other options for any upgrades available from hagon to enhance this set up further ect , but again still enjoyable thanks

Nice one Stuart. I am still on the stock suspension and suffer horrendous dive and bottoming out under hard front braking, which I try to avoid by using engine-braking and the excellent rear brake. Do you have any experience of the Hagon springs in that situation please? Also how would you say the Hagon suspension components would compare with the offerings from Tec? Tec seems to offer great value for money. Cheers

Nice. Is there much of a difference between the Tek progressive front spring upgrade in your t120 and the new Hagon spring in the t100?

Another great video Stuart. Seeing as you own both a T100 & T120 how about you do a compare on both bikes? It would also be good to know how an improved T100 compares to a standard T120, ie is it better to buy a new T120 or a new T100 and then spend some of the savings on mods?

Nice review . But front and back suspension on T100 is notoriously shit at both ends. Just about any mod will improve it no end. It’s no race bike , just a case of how much do you want to spend . I fitted diff rear suspension. New fork oil and non linear fork springs . Massive improvement total cost around £220 .

if I'm not mistaken the coils more closely wound together goes on the bottom. but I could be wrong.😏
