Ok, you could become my favourite vlogger, lol, simply because your analogies you use always get my wife to nearly drop what she is doing with a loud gasp. This one being the make up one. Do like loud pipes great mod and agree interchange to meet the moment.
I take it your wife isn't a big fan of my channel! lol. thanks for watching Paul and please convey my regards to your wife, when she has finished applying her makeup of course!
Yes, You have really valid points - have to admit I support the removal of those originals... 6kgs save! And trouble-free chain maintenance too are to most important to mention... And how the rider hears the engine is a good point too. Thanks for the video!
Walt Tanner hmmm theres no doubt it does control emmissions which is something we ignore at our peril. However these bikes are in their own right, cat aside, very frugal machines with great fuel economy. So emmissions are inherantly low anyway! So i agree. A decat is something i am looking at when i find something i like. I understand you get less heat sink so the engine will run cooler which is not a bad thing and ive also heard fuel economy improves! The captain told me it does not need to be re mapped either!
Put my tips on today. Your right they DO sound like a 2 headed hellhound from mars. Couldn’t have done it without your instructions. Awesome as always :)
Walt Tanner yes he accused me of being a copycat! The blighter! What is interesting is that his bike has also been decated! And it all still works fine!
Hi Stuart. I dont know why, but theese links for BC shop are not working. Is always freeze on youtube. Can you maybe plz link one more time in comend exhaust where can i buy it. I dint find it.
stuart fillingham: No need to apologise Mr. Fillingham. It's a good analogy and thank you for making videos with good content! I hope your day is excellent, cheers! 👍
On the record concerning the pipes and their sound, what I did is I underwent a catalytic converter delete and Stuart, let me tell you, the rip and roar of the pipes was immediate and immense. I believe I also gained some horsepower too. Without a doubt, the best "downgrade" I have subjected my cycle to so far. Well worth every cent and then some.
Thanks for sharing that Zach your a badass sir! I understand that you dont have to remap for the cat delete either! I'm certainly very pleased with the story so far might attract some unwelcome attention from the police here though! oh what the hell I might give it a try anyway! thanks for watching!
I promise you, you'll be shocked by the difference of sound. My jaw dropped. Even my Father (who used to ride a 64 Bonnie) said to me, "Son, I didn't want to say anything when I first heard it, but it just didn't sound like my Triumph, but now... now THAT sounds like my old 64!"
Zachary Hill , as I did too Zack only on my Street Cup. But as Stuart rightfully explains, the damn silencers are always in the way of maintenance even with mine: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KB2-LEXxpDk.html
Did you notice the Kickstand rubbing on the exhaust tip? I have installed these on my T120 and noticed the kickstand has made a "scratch" or "mark" where the kickstand was hitting the exhaust tip. Thanks for your input!
I checked with British Customs to look into getting the exhaust tips. I noticed they indicate that T120 models with a Vin # greater than a certain number will not fit properly. In a chat, they indicate that Triumph changed the length of the heat shield. If yours fits this description, it might be why yours don't fit perfectly on the left side. They are working on the solution. Also; excellent video as always. I enjoy watching. Thanks.
Hi Phil mine is an early VIN the problem is with the weird way Triumph trimmed the exhaust shroud at an angle its not really noticable but it was magnified in HD. good to hear they are looking at a version for the 2017 model! thanks for watching
nice idea. but for me i'd prefere a 2-1 pipe on the right hand side . it would look gorgeous and only need one silencer ... in fact ive seen a scrambler with the same sort of system and as much as i liked the bike the new look just looked right. sounded bloody awsome too .... just a shame he was pulling away at the time so no idea what system it was but posibley a TEC ?
Hello thank you for an excellent video. I was told that if I change the silencers on my 09 T100 I would have to have it remapped by a dealer. Can you please advise and recommend in a future video maybe. Thank you I'm absolutely loving your work , class act . Thank you .
Thank you! depending on the exhaust you fit it very probably will need a remap, i will be dealing with that on the Payday project bike at some stage in the future, but not sure when!
Hi Stuart Just love what you do to your t 120 and enjoy your videos . I hope some one will makes a exhaust that you can reach to oil and adjust the chain . Bear with me Stuart I just have not found the time to remove my air filter from my t100 2017 . To see if a street twin / t120 K&N filter will fit ,but will let you know . Keep up with your videos and the last thing I must ask what county do live in Paul
Great video again Stuart, not sure about the tips but as you say the standard silencers leave a lot to be desired. I own a 2009 Thruxton with the BC Predator pipes which I love. The one thing I hate about my bike is the uncomfortable seat. Numb arse seat is the best way to describe it . Is your seat a standard seat or after market? Have you heard of any good comfortable seat replacements or is the only way to go is to replace the sponge and cover?
Hi Paul! my seat is the triumph optional comfort seat, its ok but not perfect by any means! i will be looking in to custom seats in the future so please keep watching!
Hi Stuart Thanks for getting back so soon ! East Yorkshire then . I am from Kent ,Maidstone area ,have a look . Maybe one day i will get up to your neck of the woods . Looking forward to the next video Stuart Paul
Hey Stuart - now that really is a mod worth looking into. My Dad's old Mackeson Stout analogy comes to mind..."They look good, They sound good, and by golly they do you good". I kept wondering how to get around the maintenance issues on the back end and this is such an easy fix. Great video and even better dialogue - thankyou Sir!
Hey up Paul, well I certainly like them! if you do decide to take the plunge just check compatibility of your VIN number on their website. they are working on another version for the newest T120 so it shouldn't long if yours is too new! as always mate nice to hear from you and thanks for watching!
Stuart, did you do anything about the gap left behind by the pea shooter bracket that sits between the the rear peg and the saddle holders? I didn't get anything from British Customs to fill that gap and the fit of the saddle holders seems less than optimal now.
stuart fillingham Yeah, what was missing on the video is that when you remove the silencer from the rear peg, you want to remove the rubber spacer/washer that's on the silencer bracket and put it between the rear peg screw and the pannier bracket.
Hi Stuart, Thank you for the really informative video, still valid to date! Just bought these BC tips (on ebay - new in original packaging) however they didn't come with a centre stand stopper bracket, so it seems like I'll have to source that elsewhere. I was therefore hoping you could kindly provide the dimensions for that L shaped plate where possible.
Nice job, Stuart - As always. I added these tips to my 2016 t120 and love the sound and the look. Thank you for your great installation video which was very much appreciated as the British Custom tips came without any instructions and no installation vids on their website. I suggest they simply link to your RU-vid video, or hire you directly!! I did modify the heat shield on the left hand side with a Dremel cutoff tool, which IMHO makes a big improvement as without this mod the left hand side looks a bit wonky.
I have the T120 Black, so in keeping with this theme, I chose the black alloy tips. The gloss black tips contrast nicely against the flat black headers.
I bet they do! very nice! thanks for sharing with me and feel free to join me and other viewers on facebook and post some pictures! easy enough to find Website ru-vid.com
I bet they do! thanks for sharing and feel free to join me and others on my facebook page facebook.com/stuart.fillingham.77 and perhaps post some pics of your latest mods!
Amen on cleaning ,,,,, period 🤔, Ive been monkeying around with my own , home made silencers , just need a tip . Still I like the look of the pea shooters but I'd give that up for easier cleaning
Awesome as usual. I’ll be ordering the tips. I’m also going to get an x-pipe to remove the catalytic converter. That plus the tips should produce a great loud sound and shed much weight off the bike.
stuart fillingham You have a good memory! Not done anything yet, although this is an exciting time of year with the imminent announcement of all the new bikes 😬👍🏻
i have no idea if it was asked before. i am sorry if it has been asked. do you think these tips would also fit an air-cooled thruxton??? i don't see the reasons why wouldn't they fit....
Do you have the decimal readings to compare stock vs the British custom tips? I know you said the tips sound louder but once testing they are almost identical. Just would be nice to know how close to identical with the numbers. I’ve been looking at these but have been afraid it will make the bike to loud to enjoy for my self or neighbors when I leave early in the morning.
Do you have to adgust the engine settings by using external computer? I don't have official Triumph service in the country so I'm not able to do so. My only concern is that injector engines need to have that sort of engine tuning after swapping exhaust system to another type
Love the videos, I was wondering where you got the British Custom parts from? If you were getting them sent direct from BC from the States or if there is a trusted UK dealer you use?
Hi Stuart, Great job on the Videos. Recent subscriber and T120 Owner. Just a quick note: The BC Tips are listed as only being compatible with VIN # lower than 783814 (last six digits), not sure why. I hope BC comes out with a mod to assist the new bikes too.
Apparently Triumph changed the dimensions of the exhaust's slightly. it has been causing headaches for many aftermarket manufacturers! thanks for the sub!
Im not sure i understand your question sir, any change with the exhaust system will require you to go through the ECU acclimatisation process, very simple to do see my video on the sleeper pro exhausts.
Oh yes, very good. I was curious if with the Exhaust Changes you mentioned having fitment issues with BC tips, if the Delete Cat modification is know to have any fitment issues, like the BC Tips did. Thanks for all your responses.
Hi Margaret yes i believe they are in the UK they dont increase volume so theya re well below permitted levels the construction and use regs say any silencer fitted should comply with EU regs however I have not fitted a silencer it is just a decorative tip! The catalytic converter deals with the environmental emmisions so as far as i can see they are within the law! others may have different views and I'm always willing to listen!
I’ve been looking at these on British Customs website for a while now, but really wanted to hear a clear example of how they sound. You’ve convinced me. This is the way to go, until someone comes out with a better peashooter setup than the factory ones.
stuart fillingham just got them installed, your video was invaluable help! Only minor snags were: that rubber center stand stop was indeed a major pain to get into the new bracket; getting the passenger foot pegs off without disassembling them entirely; and the long bolts left behind from the silencers (I took the rubber bushings and spacers out of the silencers, and used the to reattach the foot pegs to fill that space). Bike really sounds the part now!
Hi, in BC don't recomended that combination, did you make it? How did you go, i would like to do the same. Do you take off permanently the centerstand?
Your brilliantly presented vids are inspiring Stuart. Had two 795cc bonnies previously and as you do, regretted selling. Yes disappointing quality wit NH pipes but sounded great on my re jetted bonnie. Keep up the great work!
Hello, mister Fillingham: In your opinion what are the best exhausts for a triumph boneville ; A couple a months ago a bougth a 2015 T100 and i´m looking for exhausts , not too loud but with enough sound to aware the people and cars. thanks.
@@stuartfillingham Thank you; actually after to see your videos they are my favorites; the thing is , it looks like are not available for the year of my T100. I will try to ask them best wishes from Bogota- Colombia.
Hi Stuart, great vid as always and very informative. Did you notice any issues with the motor using the tips? I was advised (by a dealer) that removing the stock pipes for straight pipes or tips can cause issues due to the lack of back pressure... any thoughts? I'm thinking of de-catting and getting some baffle-less cones if its not too loud. Cheers in advance.
stuart fillingham that’s what I thought, didn’t make sense to me... with the learning ECU I presume you don’t need a remap even if you change the slip one as well? Cheers for the response.
Hi Stuart, thanks so much for your bloody great videos. I installed these yesterday on my T120 Black 2018 and they fit quite well. I’m wondering if you can muffle them a little? I’ve also got an x pipe in and it might be too loud.
did you have to adgust the engine settings by using external computer or did you go to the official triumph service to do that? My only concern is that injector engines need to have that sort of engine tuning after swapping exhaust system to another type
That's a real bummer. Any suggestions you have for small slip ons for the T100 would be great. Really don't want cones like the Predator Pros, and the OEM peashooters are whisper quiet, and when I take them off, running just the header pipes is obnoxiously loud (Although it was nice to finally hear my actual engine for a minute).
Hi Casey, no Triumph made some changes to the exhaust after 2016 so these tips dont fit out of the box. I am aware that some people have managed to fit them with some modifications, though im not sure what is involved. perhaps a trawl of some of the triumph forums would reveal the solution.
@@stuartfillingham Must weigh considerably less than the stock? Have you done any weight comparison. I am thinking of getting them but since i live in India, I am little concerned about the extent of protection it offers vs stock
Another great video Stuart, been looking at the exhaust tips and totally agree they really unclutter the rear end. On a side note, what boots are you wearing in the video, really like the style, what make/model are they?
