Well done, thankyou for saving 1973 T140, I had one years ago, it was a bit special, got rid of all balance pipes, reverse cone megs fitted & dynamicly balanced crank, rods, pistons. Bowyer ignition mk2 Amals. It was the best bike that I ever had. Then some Bar-Stuard, stole it. Almost broke my heart. P/S, so glad you saved that crank. Some people think that a big hammer will fix (forse) anything*!?# 😵💫👹🙃
Had a 1964 Bonne. in Hi-School. Gold & white tank. Parcel Rack. Loved it ! Got drafted and had to sell it. Wish I had not . Got a 1967 Trophy now. Complete rebuilt from frame up. Former owner took out points and put in a little black box. Electronic Ignition. No more points to adjust or replace. Love to ride her, but morons on phone made her a garage queen ! I need to collect a few more SS checks before I go !
I put more miles on a T140 then all other motors together, just broke my right leg .Was hit on a harley and I'm diein to ride .that was a big job.Respect!
Very special. And looks the part with the older style side panels. Hope all original bits retained, though no need to even think of putting them back on this beauty. What a recreation, Loscar
Hi Matthew, I'm glad you like it. Of course I keep its original panels but much more beautiful with the most classic style. Thanks for watching my videos. Best regards Loscar.👍
My first motorcycle was a 1973 Bonnie 750. I was 17 and bought if from a guy who bought it at the dealer on impulse and then didn't want it. I think I remember it had around a thousand miles on it. What a great bike that was.
This post is somewhat late. I remember this magnificent restoration from years back.I'm so glad I ran into it again. Last month I was hit by some woman and broke my elbow and dislocated my shoulder. My Vstrom came out fine. What a treat to see your videos. My next door neighbor's T150 needs your superior skills. Thank you for making me smile.
😊 A pleasure Frank and thank you very much. I wish you have a speedy recovery from your injuries and thank you for watching my videos. My best wishes. Loscar✌👍
From a few years ago but i love these bikes. Build turned out perfect !! ' 69 650 Tiger was bought by one friend then sold to another. Great times ! Best motorcycle memory for me was screaming up a two lane street where i grew up on a Sunday Night, Daytona 500,1975 . my 'mom' (birth and wife) wouldn't let me buy one.
I've had a variety of motorcycles since I was 16. I worked on them myself and developed an appreciation for their craftsmanship. The feeling of riding a machine rumbling and vibrating between your legs with the sound is so enjoyable. I am 70 now. If I lived near you, I would help you work on your bikes for free. I love the passion and have been inspired by you. 6/15/22.
Hi, friend. From your comments I see that our life has been very similar, we are even almost the same age, but I beat you by one. I'm 71 years old and I wouldn't mind having you for free help? 😂 I'm sure we'd have a good time. Thank you for commenting and watching my videos. With best wishes. Loscar✌
Short of stealing the words of Gordon Stuart:- beautiful beautiful bike, it is a job well done and great attention to detail even down to the music on the post. Thank you thoroughly enjoyed your post from start to finish 👍❤✌
Wow = my brothers had triumphs when I was about 7 yrs old... 1 was a trophy 500 = 1 was a tiger ... and BSA. 650 lightning... = These bike expounded coolness in MOTORCYCLES... = Great looks and great sounds... SEEMS to me alot were chopped and modified... Good to see you bring this bike back to ORIGINAL form... thanks for sharing
had same year T140V XH22347 (amazing the trivia one never forgets) very fond memories, actually liked the original sidecovers/ airboxes more along with original mufflers, one change that really changes the handling is to pop 4" longer front forks in ….then you really can throw it around.. nice to see this completed though
Amazing work. Absolutely well done. It reminds me on similar project I finished quite a lot of years ago on 6T 1961. The bike that is still here at my home. Once done completely and properly surely lasts long.Thanks.
Agreed. 73 owner here. 5 speeds, right side shift, and the retro side covers and air horns. With the Pazon/Podtronics combo its the best of all worlds.
i CAN'T LEAVE MINE ALONE WHEN i GO SHOPPING. TOO MANY WANN- BEES, DROOLING AND SITTING ON HER. I HAD TO COVER HER UP AND LOCK IT. SURE MISS RIDING HER. SHE'S A GARAGE QUEEN NOW. TEMPTED TO PUT GAS AND BATTERY IN A RUN UP THE STREET A FEW TIME. COPS ARE QUICK HERE. VERY CHANCY WITH NO LEAGAL PLATES AND SUCH .
Nice!! I have a 1978 T 140,,, just restored it last year,,,changed to electronic ignition and upgraded all the wiring and used drycell battery and voltage regulator. I have the amal carburetors on mine.
I never see Daytona when i bought my 7.50 in 1977, i think they had stopped making them by then, why didnt they continue can find no answere, great hansom looking bike problems ironed out by 73!
Loscar✌👍
It's alright when you know what you're doing and got the tools. Dudes like me have to pay top dollar after they have been done up. p.s! love the seventies style BBC hum and drum music.
Hi, friend. Yes, that's true, but you can also do a lot of things at your own level and doing the work yourself gives great satisfaction. Greetings Loscar✌️
I'm doing the same job now. Mine was a running machine, but needed reconditioning. I was with the original owner, my best buddy, when he bought it from Jimmy Arnold's Triumph in Memphis in 1979. I have worked on this bike on and off for 42 years for 3 other friends who bought it from each other. Now it will stay with me, and I will ride with the original owner as he rides his 20 year old Honda Valkyrie this next summer. Oh, and yours looks great. Still riding it?
😊 Thank you very much Alex for that interesting story. I keep driving and restoring as long as my body allows it! ✌ Thank you very much for your note. Kind regards, Loscar
Saludos Loscar ✌
😊 I think the same as your Bob. The new covers in the classic design recover all the beauty of a true Bonneville. Thank you very much for your note. Best regards, Loscar.✌
best mod on these is an oil filter kit, goes in same place as the mesh strainer in the oil in frame models.I had a tweaked 77'T140v, wish I;d never sold it.
I thought that, but the "experts" of all things triumph say not to put one on because its not on the feed side of the oil system, the sump sucks it through the filter and they reckon its not a good idea?
@@junglie that's brilliant news, just got a new bike and the filter on it looks ancient, and it was still sucking the oil through it so all good. These triumph forums of full of people discussing who's got the biggest kahoonas I'm sure
wow thats alot of work. I could never do that much. Have done a clutch adjustment and point set. but nothing so intense as this. You have to know your sh-- ! hAVE THE RIGHT TOOLS, PARTS AND SMARTS !
I was born in Sydney Australia( 1951) These English motorcycles gave me lots of fun, I had by 15 ridden a BSA bantom & a 56 Ariel red hunter, at sixteen & nine months, I purchased a five month old 67 Bonneville. went on to own many, the 750 Commando to me was amazing, you needed a good tool kit to keep them running like they should..... Could talk for hours on this but I guess nobody would be interested...
