I'm young, wild, and free, remember those days??? What great times and GREAT MUSIC we had back then...These kids today don't have a clue, what it was really like then to be young, wild, or free, times certainly were different for us..How LUCKY were we??? ROCK ON...
Have loved this song all of my life.....How much more prolific can you be...Being a Disc Jockey,I know the Power and the Magic. I get tears in my eyes every time I hear this song....The feeling is to me as if someone threw a warm blanket on me...the best and most descriptive feeling I Have.........Comfort!!!
Phenomenal band, and then some! TRIUMPH rocked my world growing up in Jersey back in the day! I remember going 'down the shore' with the top down, cranking bands like TRIUMPH, RUSH, LED ZEP, OZZY, SCORPIONS, KISS, etc., and just feeling and savoring the moment! What I wouldn't give to be young again...
I'm glad that I grew up in the 2000s because I grew up with the ability to access music like this almost anytime and anyplace. I can carry around a small device in my pocket that holds all the music I would ever want to listen to. Sure the pop music of today sucks, but there are some gems out there if you look hard enough. Plus, you can go listen to older music like this whenever you want. People like to trash today's music industry, but the reality is that it has never been better.
Payton Gehm people don't have to trash today's music, it does that all on its own. Just look at the people who make it. Without auto-tune, lip-sync, and computer assistance, they are clueless. Few have any real talent with musical instruments. They have devolved to the point that childish antics and anti-social behavior have become more a part of their brands than the music.
I'm glad to see that people appreciate Triumph for their tremendous talent and great songs. This song has been one of my favorites of all time, and yes, I was back in the day, they are still one of the greats!!
I just turned 29 and I'm so lucky I had a step dad who was a rocker. Triumph was his favorite band and I just fell in love. It spawned my love for rock and metal.
I got to see Rick probably 20 years ago at a small bar in KC/mo. My buddy reminded me the other night that $12 was a lot of money to pay to see a bar band. I somehow talked him into forking out the cash. What an amazing blessing to be a part of that night. Amazing talent.
Rick Emmet is a great guitatist and vocalist. Triumph was a band to be delt with. I loved all their songs. And admired Rick for being able to sing lead vocals and play lead guitar at the same time. Most people don't realize how hard that is.
I use to put this album on every night before I went to sleep. I was not very happy as a child, but this song gave me hope. This was the first of many more albums and now CDs from this band. They write lyrics that make you feel speical.. I love this band and always will. Rock on and remember to HOLD ON!
I've had the privilege of seeing Triumph back in the early 80's, and Rik Emmett twice a few years back live in concert. He is one of the most awesome guitarists, musicians, singer/songwriters I have ever seen in my life! You Rock Rik!!!
This song describes exactly what music means to me and how it makes me feel. Triumph is my all time favorite band. I still listen to all their CD's often and it always makes me feel the music in my heart and soul. Thank you Rik, Gil and Mike. You made such awesome music together, I would give anything to hear it live again!er Hey Rik.... don't know the history, but remember all the wonderful music you made together.. do it again!
I saw them 3 times and thoroughly enjoyed each event. So many memories are triggered when listening to them. We were truly blessed to have grown up with these guys and other bands such as Styx, Kansas and Rush. True rock and roll, with lyrics that had meaning
In 84 i listened to this tape everyday on my to college and I listened to Rush on my home. This brings back such awesome memories when I was free and just beginning on my journey of life. I'm so glad that I grew up in the days of real and awesome music. :)
One of the most talented group of rock musicians in the late 70's and 80's! I would love to hear such talent in present day; unfortunately, there seems to be a lack as image has surpassed ability in the world of what was once called rock n roll. I weep.
Got cable in '82 as a 13 year old. Discovered Triumph and others from MTV. I remember watching this video and being blown away. Here I am 46 and looking for it on youtube.
Tim Mooney We were the first in my neighborhood to get cable in 1981. MTV was the shit back then. I used to watch it for hours when my parents weren't home. Things sure have changed.......
Fidlestyx, I was born in 1971 and truer words couldn't be spoken. Back then, bands actually PLAYED instruments and wrote their own songs. Plus, they allowed three or four albums to sculpt and perfect their art as musicians. Nowadays, if you don't go platinum with your first SINGLE, you are dropped. Also, back then, a concert, which didn't cost an arm and a leg ($20.00), were ACTUAL shows and the bands entertained the crowd with lights, lasers and the songs.
I was born and raised in Lockport, New York, which during that time, there was a bar that called themselves "After Dark." I recall a number of times Trriumph playing there. I enjoyed their music since then.
49 this year. And I'm still young, wild, and FREE. This song still picks me up after a lousy day all these years later. Does anyone know what these guys are doing these days? Miss this band.
Gives me goosebumps listening to this! I love how the music helps you to remember the good times and the bad. It lets you remember what is was to be young.
Junior Henderson hey I grew up 60's n 70's. We had best cars, best bands. Woodstock best music. People were a better type. HEY PEOPLE THE HIPPIES RIGHT!
Amy Birenbaum these guys went broke almost to put on a light show! Before they were making more than it cost lol. Triumph changed my young life! Positive messages of Magic Power and Hold On !
My bro and his freinds once told me they went to a Triumph Concert and when they Started to play this song the Crowd got so loud that the Band had to stop playing becouse they could not hear themselves and they stated that they didnt know that this song was so popular.....this was in Chicago...
John Anderson he was and still is...hes here in town from time to time...but did see steve perry in his prime, friggin best singer I ever herd...better then his album stuidio voice
Someday they will get the respect they deserve and be in the Hall of Fame I think all the Triumph fans and all rock fans of Canada should boycott the Hall of Fame and protest them and ask them why Great Canadian rock bands like Triumph Bachman-Turner Overdrive April Wine are not in the Hall of Fame yet maybe you'll get an answer
What a blast from the past. This song just opened a floodgate -- brings back so many great memories of my teenage years. I love Rush and I'm a huge fan of theirs; they are phenomenal -- but to be honest, it wasn't Rush I heard first, it was Triumph -- and I've never forgotten them).
Triumph: I could be wrong, but it's always seemed to me that they were and have been one those GREAT bands that was/is completely under rated. Just some great talent and amazing music!!!
Great music, great writing, fantastic vocals, missing from the garbage they are cramming down our throats nowadays. Now this is music!! This band rocked! Wish I could have seen them back in the day.
mrlionel1965 I was fortunate enough to see the Thunder Seven concert way back when.....to this day, i still consider it to be the best concert i've ever been to. ....and i agree about the garbage of today....ugh.
blinderII ....and by the way, i just saw Rik Emmett perform tonight in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada....it was awesome. Now i'm home looking up Triumph vids on youtube...lol.
My very first rock concert was this band playing at the old Saskatoon Arena downtown. What an awesome feeling and I still remember how they rocked that arena playing songs from In the Beginning.
Such a awesome band! Rik's vocals are so unique and perfect pitch. His guitar playing second to none! Just amazing music from the Best times of my life!
saw these guys in syracuse ny was the best show to this day ive ever seen i dont think they played one bad tune and the lite show was off the wall wish theyed tour again so i can enjoy the show like i did so many yrs ago thanks guys for the great show and great music its something ill necer forget
Triumph is my favourite Canadian Rock band. Rush comes a close second, I must say. They've always been in the shadow of Rush, are very underrated and unknown. Rik, Gill and Mike FTW!
awwwwwwww ...... I remember when music actually said something ......yes I was there in the 70's.......it died in the early 80's.........and has sucked ever since......no singer songwriters....they are extinct.......man triump was a very tallented band ..and what a voice! ....I miss it ....
