I bought Triumph's first American release when I was 15 because I thought the cover was cool. (Rock and Roll Machine). I have been a huge fan ever since. I saw Triumph live nine times and Rik Emmett solo five times. Thanks for covering Triumph!!

Great interview ... i remember seeing Triumph in a club in downtown Toronto called "The Piccadilly Tube", they were soooooo great. At that time it was like "Rush" vs "Triumph", I love them both, but Triumph had the vocals and great melodic songwriting. Love Triumph, wish they would get back together again.

I think the question about Rik Emmett's abilities came up when he approached the rest of the band with ideas for songs that sounded like folk tunes at first. Rik would assure them that he would put the Rock touch on the songs and make them great. One song that comes to mind was Magic Power.

i saw Triumph at the '83 Us Festival - they weren't the loudest or the fastest of all the groups that day but i'll be damned if they weren't the classiest

I am totally gobsmacked hearing Moore say he doesn't play guitar. How the hell did he get sole writing credit on so many guitar-based Triumph tunes????

Early on they agree to split the writing credits 3 ways. That is one of the issues that would come up later on in their relationship that caused some of the fracture between the guys.
