Excellent review Daniel, you are the only reviewer so far who has bothered to analyse the difference between the two models when riding them off road and in away that everyone can relate too, well done! I love the XE, definitely going to buy one and use it properly, such a refreshing change from all the 'Planet of the Transformers' style adventure bikes out there that are hard to really feel any connection with. The XE really has a superb and incredibly stable suspension package and it will raise a few eyebrows in the back-to-back tests against the KTM , BMW, Africa Twin crowd when they are published.

Loving these reviews mate, one of the few reviewers with actual passion and interest coming across in your videos instead of just boredom!

Much appreciated! Literally only do them because I enjoy them, I make no money off any of this.

Superb job on the comparison review. I prefer the XE too even though I know I won’t utilize half of its capabilities coz I won’t be off-roading much. But I like the having the confidence that should the need arise I can consider this the go anywhere apocalyptic type bike 😃

Same here. Even though am not going anywhere near a tight technical trail i still want that huge suspension travel and all those tech fitted for pro off road. And i would really love to see a comparison of this OHLINS with a category leading WP XPLORE

Good to see them both together in off road conditions

Strange some say the XC is plusher ride than the XE (even though it has less travel). I have the XE and can't say it's a plush ride, at all, unless you're standing on the pegs. Really curious about the XC now...Also Ohlins is just the shocks on both versions (same quality, just more travel on the XE). Forks are Showa on both versions though 45mm on the XC and 47mm tubes on the XE.

I have a xe and i do lot of off-road, I tested last week a xc and is much easier than xe on off-road, ok the forks aren't good as xe, but i have more confidence and speed in xc

my friend is 5.5 and he rides the xe because he is a man and men do not make excuses. you do not need both feet on the ground as a matter of fact you do not need no foot on the ground if you do you r not experniceed yet

@@YA-ee9zf : I actually ride a stock height 2008 R6... I am very experienced with being on tip toes and straddling the seat with only foot on the ground when stopped... Glad to hear I can ride the XE

Would the XE be camparable to the KTM1290? I understand Triumph wanted to enter the XE into Darkar and markets it up there with the "adventure bikes". As a daily and alrounder, I love the XE, but for what I do in Australia, I think the KTM1290 (or even 1190) would be more suited. I haven't found a review comparison yet on the XE vs 1190 or 1290.

Apples to oranges mate. The KTM is a 160bhp adventure bike laden with features and frankly rediculous power, the Triumph is a retro bike with offroad capability and a few features. Different bikes for different buyers. I haven't ridden them back to back but I have seperately, and the KTMs (1090 / 1190 / 1290) are absolute beasts. I love the Triumph, and while very capable, it's trump card is it's feelgood appeal, character, and image. Interestingly the 1090 is the best balanced one of those three, the 1190 is the best bang for buck, and the 1290 is just there to annoy GS riders ;-)

One thing I don’t get about these bikes they both have fob keys witch is dump as hell to start with and then you put them on bike that go off road where you can lose that big ugly key and The one that’s more meant for off-road has the paint shop of a city bike and the one that is more for the city has the off road paint job like It’s completely backwards

$20,000 USD - though - wow eh! It's a chunk o change. Nearly $5K more than same bike in the US. Interesting.

Priced like they are made in England. Thaiumph will go bust when the general public work out they are paying premium prices for Thai bikes.

JEB 100% XE > XC. It’s a no brainer. Check out my previous video, I go into it a little bit more.
