A short video on how to calibrate your Smith's temperature gauge on the Triumph Stag. I show an example of a Mk1 gauge, but Mk2's use a similar set up. You can also calibrate the fuel gauges using the same method.
To calibrate the gauge, you need a variable power supply. You directly connect the power supplies leads to each of the terminals of the gauge and apply the voltages below. (For this test, you do not need the voltage stabilizer connected anywhere.)
2 volts between the dots below Cold,
4.8 volts half way across and,
7.6 volts between the dots below Hot.
(Some folks make a special adjustment tool) Once you tweak the adjustments, you will most likely need to check them a few times and adjust accordingly.

great video ! But isn't there a voltage stabilizer somewhere behind the dash wich also influences the readings of the gauge? My Spit Mk3 has one for sure, not sure about the Stag.....

I'm only calibrating the gauge and not testing the system. The Stag also as a stabilizer which when working should be pumping out 10 volts. I updated the description.
