Love the whole car. Great you kept the original engine but with modern injection, ignition and supercharger. The diamond stiched interior is classic and suits the car so well. Congrats on superbly executed job.
Hi all , my supercharging project was indeed inspired by Enginuity but everything was done locally in Australia , yet to get on the Dyno , would have lived the ZF 4 speed but had to draw the financial line somewhere (I may look at it down the track) the CaR is stunning to drive but is still a work in progress , custom built exhaust with a nice X pipe and mufflers that finish in front of the BMW converted diff from Monarch ,
The purists may complain for the move from originality. I think that thing is the nuts mate. If I could afford it, I'd buy if & ship it to the UK. My all time favourite car, made to look & go even better. Top job mate. Awesome.
have you straitened up the crooked pedals and steering wheel,, My self and Richard Lane were the first to put in a BMW diff, Datsun driveshafts , willwood 6 pot calipers and vented discs, Toyota 5 speed gearbox , Chevy 5.7 engine . etc etc etc ....UK
Hi Spiro, thank you for the Video. What a lovely piece of kit. I do hope that you choose the ltd slip diff with all that power. Re the Autobox I suggest to replace the original with a reconditioned ZF HP 22 as used by Jaguar for the XJ and BMW for their 7-series in the early eighties. Unfortunately mine was guzzling oil and leaking, therefore the shop offered to replace it with a complete manual set up incl. clutch, pedals and cover for the gear lever. I am interested to know some figures about the performance of the engine. Did you test it on a dyno? If yes, please let us have some figures. Best regards Harry
Im apart of the triumph car club of Canberra and of victoria in Australia, We've done rallies down the Great Ocean Road and through the Great Alpne Road, have you ever thought of joining a club??
Beautiful job mate! Although I did cringe at seeing a supercharger bolted to an original Triumph V8. Keep ya eye on those timing chains:). I love the black dash in place of the wood grain to, looks classy. Bit of dry lube on the door hinges??
Hi Spiro, Who did your chrome bezel gauges? Did you get a new kit or re-chrome the existing bezels? I would like to get mine done. Please let me know. Cheers
spiro, did you consider fitting a modern transmission to replace the bw65. my stag was a unpleasant to drive at over 90 kmh due to the high revving. Maybe with a supercharger you could fit a higher rear end. Or one of the new sports automatics might be a good option. or: www.ejward.co.uk/new-parts/engine-gear-box-and-servicing/transmission/4-speed-automatic-gearbox-kit-tate-and-lewis.html this looks grouse!
Hi, what a fantastic job you have done. I am also interested in fuel injection. Can you help I live in England where they are not many people to help. I wait your help. Thx
These things were never slow. Putting a charger on it is equal parts genius and insanity. The heads were never great on this engine on account of a ropey cooling system. How have they held up?
