This was probably the best exhaust preview I've ever seen. Well done man. I have a 2015 FZ-09 and I was considering this exhaust at first, but I changed my mind because I didn't want to wait for it to ship from Italy. Also although I love how loud it is, I wouldn't want to ride with ear plugs in all the time.
I agree....great job on the video. Before the video, it was a toss up between the Yoshj Alpha T and the SC Project. I was leaning more towards the Yoshi. Now after watching this video, you’ve made my decision more difficult. Thanks bro.
Test rode the STR back in September and I was absolutely addicted to the stock exhaust and induction sound alone! I can't imagine how amazing this must sound riding it! Good video man
Surk Zurk hello friend , I must say nice video , can you help as I am confused between sc project conic , crt and gpm2 , I have same STR BIKE. I am looking for a good racing soundawaiting for your revert friend..
MrJAANUBOND Thanks! It depends on what you're looking for. I went with the CRT because I like the shorter look and design of the pipe. Its loud! I ride with earplugs 95% of the time. I think its louder than the Conic and GPM2. I didnt choose the conic because I wasn't a fan of the design. I was going to get the GPM2 but then shortly after, the CRT became available. If you want to do a full system, there is one available and it is paired with the GPM2. If you're looking for loud, then CRT or GPM2. I believe these are the 2 least restrictive exhausts for this bike from SC Project. Good Luck!
Had the very same config (bike+exhaust) last summer and I can tell you...this exhaust is so loud that if you are not wearing ear plugs you can go deaf in less than 1 hour (tested with an Arai Corsair and Schuberth SR1). The sad thing is that the exhaust doesn't come with an silencer. Other than that, the sound is amazing and the exhaust complements the bike perfectly. And great video btw!
Ed Weeks This is the only video you'll find on youtube with the CR-T pipe mounted on an STR. And again, the pipe doesn't come with an silencer. Ask the author of this video.
I was in love with Austin racing exhaust then I heard this sc project on a bmw s1000rr and omfg made me forget about Austin racing :)). I need this on my 675r Daytona
Racing version, not for road use. CR-T is a "Race Replica" silencer, coming directly from the MotoGP, so there is not the possibility to have db-killer inside the CR-T silencer.
Baffle in or out? are you using a go pro to record? if so do you have a microphone mounted inside your helmet ir are you just using the go pro audio recording? i can's seem to eliminate the wind noise... SWEET BIKE!
nice exhaust i recently got one after watching this video and it sounds FUCKIN EPIC!!!!!! and its mad loud for all those who think its not that loud but in city traffic i sometimes feel its heating up more than normal and my engine paint starts bubbling are you facing any issues of this sort
Surk Zurk With that exhaust, are you using a power controller or do you need to tune the bike after you install the piece or is one set and ready to ride after install?
ae58hpa Didn't get a tune nor is a power controller being used. Just slapped the pipe right on there and its amazing. Professional recommendation: get baseline (stock) > install pipe & air filter > tune
Ear plugs make the noise quite pleasing. There were a couple of times where one of those ear plugs fell out of my pocket. Lol. It wasn't too bad. Wouldn't recommend doing it daily. GPM2 was the original plan until the CR-T came out. It would be nice if a full exhaust version was available. I would estimate the GPM2 being about 10% quieter.
Really weird question... How tall are you?? Sorry, I'm 6'2" and just wondering if I would look ridiculously tall on one of these, nice and comfortable to fit on but wouldn't want to look stupid
Scot Wilson You won't look stupid. I'm 6'3" 185lbs and the ergonomics are surprisingly comfortable. I've had pictures of me taken on the bike and I certainly don't look stupid on it.
Thanks for the feedback, was worried I wouldn't be able to have bikes like these but glad other 'generously sized' people have ;) haven't had a go on one yet but it feels like the perfect combination of sporty/comfy riding
Donny Fuller I don't think the bike is too tall. I have a buddy who's about 5' and when he got on my bike, he managed just fine. His only complaint was it might be stressful on his wrists be cause he says he has short arms. He rides a supermoto which is taller than my bike and manages fine with that too. I suggest stopping by a dealer and taking one out for a spin!
Hey Donny, I am same height as you, I can stand with both of my feet touching but with tiptoes. I usually just put one foot down tho at a stop, if I slide enough off the seat I can flat foot it on one side. You'll manage. Zurk, your bike is looks good and sounds awesome.
Any problems with cops for this? I feel like cops would be all over me up here in Canada. You order it from the site? I'm looking at SC project or competition werkes... 100euros for shipping to Canada which is steep...
Southern Canuckian No problems with LEOs. I do somewhat feel tense when one is near me. Today, I rolled up next to NYPD at a red light, looked at the officer, and gave a nod, he nodded back, and I was on my way. I keep it under 3k rpm in those cases. I had another encounter where a patrol car was just driving around my neighborhood, followed me onto my block, and as I pulled in my driveway, the cop goes, "Is that a Speed Triple or Street Triple?" I thought I was getting written up. Lol. I got the pipe from motovationusa.com
hahahaha, thats actually so funny, cop follows you just to ask. I feel ya on keeping it under 3000rpm even with the stock cause once you get upwards to 10 it gets pretty loud. I'll have to check that site out, thanks!
Surk Zurk Curious how you minimized the wind noise. I have a hero5 and most of my footage is bad just because of the wind noise. I can't even hear my bike. 😕
