Spot on. I've just done mine and I put a bolt in where the banjo goes and connected a grease gun onto the bleed valve. It worked a treat!

Goodaymateowyagoin😁😁(Thats good morning Old mate Del) in Aussie👍👍 Mate when you cleaned the piston parts in your washer, do you use just water or kerosene,? My mate asked me to ask you, are you a bike mechanic by trade, or just a very talented man. He loves ya video's. Hope ya new years went well,,,, cheers mate.
@Moonfleet41
@Moonfleet41 3 года назад
Hi mate, never use kerosene in a parts washer, it's frighteningly flammable and you're passing it through an electric pump, so not the best plan! I use an emulsifiable de-greasing fluid suitable for the job, it can be watered down (emulsifiable) but I use it neat, does a demon job... and it appears not matter how long you use it, as long as you filter out the gritty bits every now and again, it lasts for ages...!

Enjoying your series mate. Have 2 Thunderbird sports to work through so a lot of relevant stuff for me. One question. Why are you sanding and prepping by hand when you have a media blast cabinet? Cheers
@Moonfleet41
@Moonfleet41 3 года назад
Many of the units have smooth internal bore cylinders (brake calipers, slave cylinders, etc.) and you can't afford to blast the internal face of those bores so better to prep by hand in this instance, you can mask as diligently as you like, but those glass beads will get in everywhere, no matter what you do, and even one bead left behind can reek havoc on the new seals... just playing it safe mate!

Sorry mate, don't know what you mean?
@myz06rocks
@myz06rocks 3 года назад
@@Moonfleet41 sorry. Only made sense to me that one. Haha. I meant if you could have attached a banjo bolt to the case behind the piston a pushed it out. You know, when you don’t have a lathe (YET 👍🏻)😁
@Moonfleet41
@Moonfleet41 3 года назад
@@myz06rocks If you mean physically push it, then no because firstly the bolt comes in to the casting sideways, so not pushing in the right direction, and there's a spring in there anyway, rather than the back of the piston... compressed air in the banjo hole can sometimes work, but in this case, it was jammed, so just do what you have to do aye!!

Poor thing . . . for having been well refurbished & returned to service, it's then treated to gratuitous amounts of sticky black treacle & left alone in the darkness to ponder it's fate, as the globular curtains of excess weight assume rigidity about it's formerly pristine flanks, thoughts of it's carefree & lightweight youth pass lazily through the deeper recesses of it's hopeless & cast-in molecular non-consciousness . . . ('I'm just writing along, on the jest of his slave' . . . Sorry) Have a great week & remember, don't go anywhere - just stay in, & turn normal : ) xx
