This video is all about the very highly respected Triumph tiger 1200 GT-Pro.
I first rode this bike back in June 2022 at the ABR festival and wanted to find out more about it and what it would be like to live with.
I think video I will cover my first impressions of the bike and run through some of the specs briefly.
I will be making a full review of this bike at some point so make sure you subscribe so you don't miss it.
Thanks E.R

So many middle aged guys ride the big GS but I've never wanted to join the club. For this reason this bike strongly appeals. Fits me perfectly but so far not managed to get a test ride (local dealer said 30 mins max) Not having the option of standard suspension and a key puts me off. No doubt folks will think I'm an old dinosaur not wanting all the electronic stuff. Definitely a more practical option to tour on compared to my MT10 but possibly overkill as I only ride one up???
@exeterrider
@exeterrider Год назад
Yes ,So many people want to avoid the GS club but then they try one and end up in it! I think this may be more up your street but if the dealer expects you to part with 16k when you have ridden around the block then what do they expect. Far from ideal that! Perhaps wait till a Triumph experience day comes to your local. Ironic when Carol rides a Triumph so your a customer of high potential. No, riding 1 up makes no difference here , its a really good bike for your type of travels and height....I would recommend it for you although it wont have the sporty feel you get from your present bike of course so may feel a bit alien to you and you may yearn for that sporty feel again. The electronic stuff puts me on edge, I am always the first to say that. Keep it simple and there is less chance of something that needs fixing. But its still nice to have some of it,,,,cruise control would be great for some of your travels. Thanks

Overall this seems a very good bike . It's important i feel for this bike to be a real alternative to a GS with the ongoing shaft drive issues with the BMW . Hopefully this bike will shake up the poor design complacency of BMW .

Yes it really is very good on so many levels. I will be straight up and say there is too much electronics on the bike for my liking. Thats my only gripe with it. But its a great bike

They seem to be a very popular range within Triumph, plenty of the 900 version here in AUS. Not sure if that’s because of price or not, either way the owner is on a quality ride. ✌️

E.R How long have I been waiting for the Triumph reviews and finally.......!!! It's your fault I bought my speedmaster . I am selling my speedmaster for a Tiger in 2023. Which do you prefer because I like the Tiger 1200 but will I be better off with the 900?? I have the all clear from "her indoors" for a new bike in 2023. Thought's please???
@exeterrider
@exeterrider Год назад
Hi, Yes I remember you and the Speedmaster. The 1200 is great for big trips and very impressive overall. If you going to do big trips like you do with the Speedmaster then its the 1200 all the way, I haven't ridden the 900 but I get the impression it will suit you more to be honest . I hope to do more with Triumph but see how it goes! If I can get a 900 then I will let you know, sorry I can't be much use on that one. Your the chap who was going to buy the Speedtwin arn't you but found me riding the Speedmaster then bought one 3 days later right?

Sorry I’m so late mate, bike issues have prevented me from watching anything recently. I’m with you mate, after looking at the spec list I thought there was way too much electric gadgets but that’s the way it’s all going. I like the screen and the adjustment, nice and strong, glad it’s not electrical 😂 The quick shifter is a nice addition, bet that makes touring nice and sweet 🤘 All triples sound nice 😉 Doubt it’s going to be a GS killer, the GS will be responding soon with a bigger engine and probably more gadgets, people will go nuts for that once it’s out. Great video mate, hope you’ve enjoyed your week off 🤘

I think those bikes (you mentioned) all are for different people - there are different people although many of the individuals writing comments do not accept it - otherwise manufacturers would just copy one bike and compete with that... For a review I think what is important is to show opinions about the features and those who are interested in that bike would have an opportunity to think about it and maybe have a close look. The rest is nonsense, like what is the top speed or acceleration - those are just adventure bikes designed for a certain use. Hope it is not so heavy as those others are. Looks quite practical and light...
@exeterrider
@exeterrider Год назад
I totally agree, many people like different things. The Tiger has some benefits over the others and I have a segment on the full review video mentioning how light the bike is to push around. It is a very practical bike for sure. The review goes into it all a lot more,without overdoing it as well because these bikes have a huge amount involved . Thanks for watching

Looks fantastic blue my fave colour ER gotta ask why not an electrically operated screen at that price and why do they not finish the exhaust these days so many have these god awful down pipes and well up to the silencer looking really tatty and under finished from the off . Having moaned there I will say this bike is visually better to me than the GS now whether it it rides better no clue but you will . How is it Hight wise for you 😉not that it matters I think I might be more suited to the speed twin really .👍
@exeterrider
@exeterrider Год назад
You make a very good point there Crumbley...For me there are some electronics I dont want such as the key fob ignition, push button steering lock, ans electronic locking fuel cap. Its all a bit much and if I bought this bike it would be a long term purchase, but knowing what I know , if anything goes wrong it normally has electric going through it so all that puts me on edge when I have just spent 16k on a bike. It does look good for sure. Its a total different ride than the GS, they are just different at the end of the day. The Triumph would be cheaper to buy and run I think. But I am a GS fan aswell so just depends which way the wind was blowing on the day. Height wise and weight is no issue.....I very nearly flat foot the bike. It gives me confidence on that front.

Your initial thoughts on the Tiger 1200 are interesting, ER. It’s a nice looking machine but a bank loan job if you wanted to buy one. Unfortunately the weather forecast for the next 2 weeks is rubbish so you’ll have to get out the wet weather gear.
@exeterrider
@exeterrider Год назад
It was filmed 2 weeks ago Jim just before the heavy rain came down for a week. I found a good day to film the Walkround, but the rest was done in dribs and drabs. Yes it's a lot of money, I couldn't justify one at the moment but it has a market for some people looking for that type of bike. It's in a competitive place in the market. I think you would be impressed by how it handles its weight. They have done a lot of work there to keep it down. Also I didn't find it viby on the motorway which surprised me, because many say that it is. A bit through the bars, pegs but no more than a 4 pot engine. I've done 60 miles on the motorway and it's been totally fine. May be all that drilling holes in walls over the years has numbed me out😂👍

Very nice Exmouth ! I do love me a Trumpet but too much money for me these days ! So presumably for an ADV bike the seat height was ok for you ? Most of these ADV bikes would have me on tiptoes, which isn't very confidence inspiring when you think how expensive a drop could be 😱 How did you get on with the seat height ? Agree though, too much money to spend if you aren't intending to really do some longer trips semi-regularly ! Far too much bike for just swanning about on a sunny Sunday. Cheers, glad to see Exeter coming into the 21st century with that train station. Of course Exmouth has had one for ages, as you well know 😂 Take care you rascal, ER ( El Otro )
