Nice choices for the test ride. I think both of you have nearly talked yourselves into arranging a longer loan, to exploit their potentials in more depth. That 765 is a lovely bike and I agree with Carol, the 1200 Tiger is tailor-made for you. Something to ponder over dinner methinks! Take care for now.
Yep. We would need longer rides on the bikes to be sure. Both bikes suited us. It's still very difficult to justify changing when our current bikes are running so well
Carol should put the Triumph bar end mirrors on her bike, did on my 2012 Speedie and what a difference! Ebay purchase. Oh, my 2012 Speedie 1050 probably has same weight to HP ratio as the 765. Carol should get the 765, could tell she enjoyed the acceleration in her narrative. Richard, I am with ya, MT10 forever!
Carol loved the RS and it's Bar end mirrors. Might get bar ends for her bike and my MT10. I still haven't found anything that matches the MT10 for sheer fun factor
Another cracking vid 👌 I do wish they hadn’t gone with the T plain crank on the 1200 I was lucky enough to ride the first prototype before they made that decision dam what a bike that was definitely no numb fingers on that one ☝️
This is the first time I hear that you were not allowed to film the ride. :) Crazy. I have to admit that you look very good on the 1200 Richard. I can easily imagine you owning and riding one. The price is high for the 1200, but these days this is the reality. Great video and a very nice day riding I suppose.
It was a shame we weren't allowed to film. I nearly said "but don't you know who we are" ? 🤣 We still enjoyed the day and we both liked the bikes very much
@@Banditmanuk You are right. Really a shame. They have probably some bad experience... otherwise I really don't know what could be the reason. Did you check my community tab and vote there? :)
Cheers! Thank you for the nice video, the sound and image were impeccable 👌🏻 The Tiger is a very versatile bike. But I wouldn’t get apart from the MT-10. Loved your interaction and dialogue. Perfect!👌🏻
Did Carole not think the 765 RS was a lot more arse up head down than the 675? My mate said that's what he found. He didn't keep the 765 long and bought 900 Scrambler. Big lad, put a small screen on the tiger,, or take it off altogether. Helps a lot.
You tricked me there was food involved. 😄😄 Triumph does some have a lot of great models. I really appreciate you your feedback on both models especially the 765.
😂😂 sneaked it in. It's a shame we weren't allowed to film on the bikes but understandable as on occasions they did open it up to let us experience the performance. An enjoyable day. Thanks Triumph
Good interesting video, I was considering a Tiger a few weeks ago but the Versys won the decision. I never test rode either of them. As we ride 2 up we thought the Versys is easier for my wife to get on and off with the panniers on. At least you know what to buy each other for Christmas now.
OOoooooooohhhhhh, suits you sir! Have to say, that Tiger does suit you and your size. And that RU-vid view was fine I thought. Go on Carole, upgrade to that RS and get some knee down action on camera for us😁😁 Could you not have a QS added to your current Triumph ST? Think that's the first time I've heard you swear on camera Richard🤣🤣but what a stupid place to pass that other bike, he crossed the solid white line as Carol went round and only just got over by the time you got there. Good video again , enjoyed that. Oh, and did they say WHY no cameras on the ride?
It does suit me 😀 Carol certainly loves the Yellow Street Triple. Trouble is the current bikes are still running fine. I don't swear much but that rider was b stupid overtaking on that corner as we were heading towards them! The no cameras was supposed to be part of their insurance cover but they also said they didn't want incidents uploading to RU-vid. It probably allows them to occasionally open up the bikes being tested
Well, Well, Well, about three years later Richard you actually got to try the Tiger 1200 you've had your eye on all this time. Also Carol seems to have found a bike she prefers to her old Street Triple. I hope Triumph give you both long term loans, it'd be great to get both of your opinions after a good spell riding the bikes.
Yep finally got a go on one. Not long enough to form a proper opinion but yes we both liked the bikes and enjoyed the day. I've never approached manufacturers for press bikes but I'm tempted to with these Triumphs
Hi Richard and Carol. Great video as always. Carol needs a go on the Street Triple R; much more road focused with a slightly softer ride, a few mm lower than the RS, just as quick as the RS unless your thrashing it. I did test ride the RS before buying my R and the RS is definitely more track focused. Same quickshifter on the R. Talking of windscreens I've found that my Street Triple is better than anything I've ridden with a screen as there is no buffeting whatsoever as its just "clean air" that is hitting you, what did Carol think ?
You're probably right on the R being more suitable. Problem is that Carol loves the Yellow of the RS. When she eventually changes it will probably be the R or RS. At the moment her old bike is running fine so she's keeping it a while longer
Worth a mention, though you probably have found this out by now, the street triple suspension is adjustable. It's possible they had it setup quite stiff.
Suit you sir! Very nice bikes. I’d like to meet up with you for a coffee one day at Triumph. My BMW Keeps showing engine management light, so it’s not just KTM. You could give me a tour! Cake looks amazing. Ride safe!
I did like the bike very much. It would be great to meet up for a coffee and a visit to the Triumph factory. If you give us a couple of weekend dates your free, we will fix something up
Thanks for another great insight even though you both had short rides on them. What was the reason you couldn't film the rides? And if you are, what days are you attending the ABF?
They said we couldn't film as previously 'incidents' during test rides had found their way onto RU-vid before family members of the crashed person are informed. And their insurance cover prohibits use of cameras We're doing Prescott instead of ABR. Every other RU-vid channel will be at ABR no doubt
So guy's who's gonna jump first both are nice bikes I was wondering if the Street Triple R might just be a bit softer would be interesting to see more tests needed me thinks guy's as you said 1/2 hour ain't enough .👌👍
I will go against the flow and say keep the MT10. You could tell in your voice how much you liked that burst of acceleration. The Triumph may be a sensible choice but I don't think it will ring your bell line the MT10. As for the 765, I've learned over the years to never disagree with a lady. 😁
I really liked the Street Triple 765 R when I tested it, video on my channel. It's a shame Triumph didn't let you film it, same as BMW when I went on one of their organised rides (R18) I don't like the looks of the Tiger at all but quite a few observers on my local IAM group have them and love them.
Yep, after watching your vid we were expecting the no filming. We did ask and it was a firm but polite no. At least it gave the lead rider a little scope to open it up a bit
Yep the quick shifter's were great. Bike height isn't too much of a problem but weight is. I don't want something too heavy as I head into my 60s. That Tiger goes unexpectedly well but still not a match on the MT10
I don't want a 21" front wheel. Made that mistake with a Tiger 800XC some years ago. Carol would probably agree on the Street Triple R but see likes the Yellow only available on the RS
@@Banditmanuk Fair enough and I did know your reasons before, MotoUK likes his Rally and he's your height hence my suggestion. and yes it is a shame they don't do the R in yellow. I bought an R in yellow but it's a Honda and only a 300 😁a bit of an insect magnet though which I knew it would be. Hey we even got a bit of mower action in the vid too I see. Keep up the good work.
The street rs is way too firm for the road imo. I've set mine to comfort settings and it's much more compliant. I might add a couple of clicks to the rear to firm that slightly, but overall it's much better for the road only riding I do.
The thing sticking out of the side of the Insta is an audio adapter. Carol and I record our duel audio wirelessly using Rode Go 2 microphones and that's how we get that external feed onto the 360 film track. 🤣🤣 I do like the Tiger
I agreewith the electronics. When I had the 1200 Tiger, the keyless and electronic fuel cap did bother me a bit tbh. I'd just rather have a key. I have the speed twin 1200 at the moment, and it's much more simple and less to go wrong. Although for Carol it's a quicker bike, how fast do you need in a world of cameras waiting to get you, and unmarked Police Motorcycles which is what we have had recently down here😢
The over complicated electronics are our biggest concern. Lots of expensive stuff on those bikes I don't need. We definitely don't NEED faster bikes but nothing wrong with liking them
Rather mean of Triumph not allowing you to film riding their bikes. I often find their decisions bizarre. If they have faith in their bikes/products then it can only mean good and free advertising for them. Ridiculous.
