This obsession with vibes, I tested the GT Pro before I decided on a Multi V2S, I thought the Tiger was great, pulses aren’t vibes, I love twins and triples. Want smooth get a in-line four, they bore me to death apart from the Kawasaki engines. I nearly bought the Tiger and I came off a GSA, maybe next time.

Honest question. Why this and not the 2024 F800GS? I am literally torn between the 2. 😊 thanks in advance ❤

@michagil5410 price, £9000 when I bought it new in 21, comfort solo and two up, gearbox probably the nicest and smoothest gearbox on a bike I've ever owned, handling, its so forgiving, reliability I've done 12000 miles so far with no issues, performance is good solo and two up. I've owned all sorts of bikes but for me the 850 ticks all the boxes.

Thanks for posting….great review of a great bike….probably one of my favorites …. The feeling riding it reminds me of my 09 GS which was a game changer for me…I added similar accessories and all work well… center stand, heated grips, Trekker panniers, Altrider back rack(very good)… may do the radiator cover and hand guards.

being under 200kg seems great with the great pannier seat. my 750gs at 222kg is too heavy to move around; let along 2 up riding getting older, need lighter. Cant' justtify $4500. usd more for a 900 gt pro specs slightly better than the 750gs also.

Great review. I’ve had mine 2 years now and love it! Same upgrades heated grips, quick shifter but also have a cool cover on the seat and different screen which gives 500mile plus comfort. Have to watch the speed now cos it keeps going up to 90mph and feels like 60. I’ve have got bar risers on cos of long body short leg family trait!😁 I’ve had 30 bikes over the last 50 years, this and my 2017 T100 are my keeper bikes. Things I don’t rate are the rev counter, it’s virtually useless, the stock screen for tall in the body blokes doesn’t give enough wind protection and finally the mpg is slightly disappointing at 50-55mpg (T100 good for 75mpg) I also have fitted a GRmoto can which is brilliant, on the dyno it gives a little more power throughout the rev range with baffle out but a tad to noisy for me. With baffle in but cut down the sound is lovely power and torque come in 500rpm lower and is increased up to 5000rpm but does drop off over final 1500rpm by 2-3bhp. In the real world it’s an improvement on power, sound and 5kg lighter!

Hey Michael, thanks for sharing this info I'm sure the community will find this information really helpful :), the T100 is a fantastic bike also, love how smooth it is and the sound is incredible. Take it easy dude, cheers, Si

So. You mentioned the 900 tyres, but standard they aren’t Michelin Anakee as on the 850 Sport - they are Metzler Tourance NEXT. 150/70 and 100/90. The front is a non radial and for the road I prefer a 110/80 radial. Fitting a pair of Dunlop Trailmax Meridians in those sizes on Wednesday which should be a bit more road orientated than the OEM.
@simotofoto

Cheers John, was just pointing out the Michelins are the OEM tyre for the 850, great tyre had good experience of them myself.

Since you’ve rode both the 660 and this one if you were purchasing which would you prefer? I’ve found a used 850 for less than $9000 with just 5k which has a center stand, upper and lower protection like your friends so quite a bit of aftermarket value.

Hi you say that there was no noticeable vibes on the 850 i have a 23 plate 900 and i find it has alot of vibes a bit off putting for me so is the 850 a complete different engine set up besides the t plane ?? Is the firing order different on the 850 up against the 900 ?? Great Videos really informative and enjoyable thank yoy
@simotofoto
@simotofoto Год назад
Hi Graham, thanks for the comment, vibes seams to be something some people feel and others don't it really is quite subjective, the 850 is pretty much the same as the 900.

+1 Coming from a BMW K75S and a 2018 Tiger800 XCA (true triples) I find my Tiger 900 Rally Pro's T-cranked engine's vibration hard to get used to, despite the fact that I was trying really hard. It also seems to be different to a Vtwin pulsing (e.g. DL650), I just decided to sell it and contacted the buyer of my 800 if he reckons selling it back to me at a certain point of time...kudos to Triumph

Absolutely love my 850. My hands and wrists aren’t to great and have no trouble with vibes. The suspension suited me straight out the “box”. The engine is “the dugs baws” and pleasure to ride. Can’t wait for the updated version.

I didn’t really like the cross plane crank when I had a test ride of a Tiger 900. Seemed lumpy/vibrations. I Prefer the 660 engine, smoother output. I think they should have left GT versions with a conventional crank.

@@simotofoto I don't have a Tiger 850, but I would have expected better than 50mpg. I had a 2005 1050 Speed Triple that averaged 55mpg, so I'm just surprised at those consumption figures.

a 20 liter tank should get you more like 250 miles especially if you tour and don't ride it like a sportsbike, i get more miles on a full tank on my africa twin 1100 and that one has only 18 liter tank standard
