After making a promise to myself a couple of years to find a job that combined work with my passion, I was very lucky to find a job working for a bike shop in Glasgow West Coast Triumph and have loved every minute since.
I wanted to bring you with me on this journey, share my experience with all the fantastic bikes I have access to, and help you guys and girls get a flavour of what they feel like to ride and live with.
I produce weekly vids around motorcycle content, covering reviews of both old, and new models, including some classics and also some of the events that happen at the shop throughout the year.
Please Subscribe and join me on the journey as we go on and discover together the joys of riding bikes :)

@simotofoto the age of the non oil filter variety. ..2020 It's got a little screen inside and a spinner oil cleaner. Have to take the whole side of the engine case off to service it properly. Fun times. My original post was a joke. I wish it was as easy as yours. 🤣
Before I saw this video I had the impression that I could understand English. Well, I was obviously wrong 😀 - Greetings from Germany! I liked the video, even though I only understood every fifth word
Thanks for the review, looking at the 2024 GT Pro as my next ride, moving on from my GS. For the heated seat and grips, are you able to change the heat intensity. You mention upgrading the screen, any recommendations? Keep up the good work.
Had the first gen Tiger Rally pro and loved it Si, just needed the extrat horsepower. Switched up to the 1200 Rally Explorer and didnt gel with it due to all the stalling issues. Switched back to this new Rally pro, and love it!. Plenty of power, throttle connection is sublime, and handles great, and i run Dunlop Trailmax raid tyres. Great video Si of probably the best adventure bike in its class. And my local dealer, Staffs Triumph are a superb dealer. Thank you
My only problem with Triumph is the dealerships. I have a Triumph, Honda and a BMW and I dread my annual service of the Bonnie. I've used 3 dealerships and visited countless ones, and they've all been very/ pretty crap. I've seen this before ib other industries where there's a widening disconnect between the manufacturers and the distributors and it always ends badly. Its a pity because Triumph are finally producing some good bikes. That 900 has been on my shortlist for about 3 years and especially now they've improved it. If I had a good dealer within 150 miles I'd probably pull the trigger.
The only thing that's ever stopped me buying any high end Triumph is the service costs. A friend of mine looked around for his 12k service, and the cheapest quote was £890!!! And before anyone tries to say a bmw will be more expensive. Far from, when I had a GS last year, It was £580, same 12k service.
Yeah thats the valve service at 12k on the 900's, they have gone to 20000 on the 1200's and 18000 on the 900's. If it was a BMW boxer the valve service is a whole lot simpler with the heads easily accessible when compared to the tigers. The trade of is the epic T Plane engine though it really is a masterpiece :)
@simotofoto Whilst wasn't a fan of the boxer, I'm come to realise tbat I'm not a lover off adventure bikes.. I moved back onto sports tourers, which, ultimately, in my OPINION, are better road bikes. I understand why adventure bikes sell, comfort, carry capacity, and can go on n off road, but 98% of riders never go off.. I don't get it personally, but we ride what we like and that's the beauty off it.
Hello Si. Alan🏴 from Victoria BC 🇨🇦. Firstly thanks for the visit to your shop a few weeks back. Secondly you mentioned the BMW Boxer... Do you think that either this or the GT Pro could replace my GS 1200? Some roads I ride have 80mph limit so 85-90 is normal. The Triumph 1200 is clearly an option... but might the 900 work just as well? Great work on the videos btw!
Thanks Alan, it was great to meet you thanks ever so much for stoping by :) We have had so many people down at the shop selling or PXing 1200's not only Tigers but GS, Africa Twin and Multistrada and going for 900's. Its a tough call Alan and very personal, get one out for a ride, its a great bike and might just do the job for a lot less expense.
I have a 2021 model as my first bike in red. DO not need another bike ever. A smile every day I ride. All comments echoed. All reviews say the same. Gets admired when I stop. My mate has now also brought one after trying other bikes. Well done the joy of this bike is echoed in your review.
Serious contender for an older biker moving away from a Z1000SX, but am totally lost why race tyres are put on this for an English bike in English 'wet' weather. They look horrific for wet grip tbh. Nice review, cementing my desire to take one out. Shame Euro5 has killed the sound.
They still sound good to be honest, however they have a self learning ECU and if you fit a straight though exhaust and get your dealer to reset the ECU it will run fine and sound utterly epic :)
Test ride was amazing; Lighter by far than my 750gs at 222kg; ez wonderful . Now.... I hear the pannier racks and crash bars on 2024 GT Pro are not compatalable with 22,23. Things moved around and no 3rd party has them yet for 24' . Disappointing as Shad had 22,23. to match my boxes.
I've watched all the 1250gs videos on here and this is the one to convince me to make the change. Our biking history, height, weight ect. is all similar! Will be difficult seeing my k6 1000 go but hay-ho. New subscriber.👌
You highlighted Ginger Hall as the start of a difficult section and then Hicky goes and crashes there ! ☹️ At least he got a pint 🍺 in early ! Glad to see you out on your GS for a change !
Nice review! I am struggling with the suspension.. little to hard, specially on the forks... I am tweaking on my .. to correct things that do not suit me> I hate the bar ends mirror...as well, and the lack of a bit of friction on the throttle (due to absence of cables) is annoyng and tiresome. But a brilliant bike indeed Love your accent Cheers from Brazil mate
Ive been talking about going up Scotland for decades now, still havent made it, but its a long bloody way from Kent - (I've even bought various guidebooks and maps) but as im currently bikeless and dont drive cars its unlikely to happen for a while yet...but one day...!!!
Hehehehe, typical British summer! Dressed in wooly hats and gloves in June! lol Fantastic. 👍 I'm coming over from America this weekend for the Knockhill Superbikes! Should be a belter.
Rode to Triumph on Saturday on my monkey, took out the 400x and loved it, came back and thought someone had sabotaged my monkey, it felt shite to ride afterwards i thought the wheels were loose or had a puncture lol my mind had to readjust back to riding it, got to take out the speed next, then decide which i prefer, not sure if i will get rid of the monkey yet as i have plenty fun on that but dying to mod one of the 400s.
all data should be avilalbe to toggle thru the screens while driving like temps, tpms or let me configure what i wanat on my main screen ! move widgets around like your phone
