I found this '59 TR3A locally. It was acquired 15 years earlier from the widow of a fellow that began restoration work around 1980. The car was unchanged during those 15 years. So I imagine the car was in this same state and condition for over 40 years. A 1980 receipt was found from a wrecking yard in Reno, Nevada for a TR4 engine and gearbox. Paperwork that came with the car also included a 1980 death certificate stating that the owner had died at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. If possible, I wanted to know the condition of the engine before moving forward with this project. After some preparations the engine fired right up.
