Part 1 of the disassembly of the 1969 Triumph T150 Trident engine. I will drain the oil, remove the top end and give a little more history.

The Triumph Trident (or BSA Rocket 3) was a technically advanced, high-performance roadster (or standard) motorcycle made by Triumph Engineering and Birmingham Small Arms Company (BSA) from 1968 to 1975

The scaffold is a great idea. I like the light and camera mounting it offers as well.

Yep, it is a nice bonus. I bought a led shop light to mount on it as well. I get good natural light but bad shadows sometimes.

@@theeddies It's cool that it's being used as it's being stored. Man what a flop day here lol. The junk built surface grinder is a failure and being disassembled tomorrow. The good news is... I have a long over due reorganization plan that will finally let me have the machines, and accessible shelves and storage again. I've been in a cluster since I got my mill, then added a drill press or two to the mix. lol

@@johnstrange6799 Yea there is no better feeling than putting some eyesore in the yard to some actual use, lol. Sorry about the grinder, you should share what went wrong. Shop space is the great quest of my life too. Nice you might be freeing some up or at least making it more useful. Everytime I go out with the intent of clearing up, I get bored, start a new project and make another mess.

It's hard when we go junking, you have to really be discerning AND process (clean up, find a spot for, dismantle, strip down etc) what you drag home, cus if you don't... it can pile up fast and ugly. I could have made the grinder work at least for video sake if I had nothing else to do and didn't need the space it was in, but when it was a flop even for video and I have these steel drawers sitting outside, and the drill press and band saw, then the grinder's fate was sealed. I did take pictures, and have the failure on video. It'll be part of some random update video eventually. It does blow that tons of little work was in it. It had lots of machined and drill and tapped parts (all time and energy), but oh well. Right now I need to slap paint on a wall, then see if I can inch my mill across the room. I'm not sure I can, so that should be interesting.

@@johnstrange6799 Well it was a learning experience anyway. Storage is more important. I would give you hand with the mill but you'd probably be done by the time I got there, lol. MrPete is not far from you, right? See if he will come for dinner and lend a hand :-)

Great story about the Triumph line. So what do you do with these motor's once you take them apart? Do you rebuild them or sell the parts or...?? Have a good Memorial day!

It depends, the 500 I took apart had some pieces I needed for the rebuild of another that should happen during the next winter and some has already sold to some guys I know in England (it is often harder to find parts there which I find weird). The Trident will be a lot of spares for my bike and some pieces sold on as well. Parts for these are getting very expensive, so I will save quite a bit probably in case mine breaks. These engines were already "rebuilt" and then broke, so they have to be broken down to see what I have. There is some serious amateur work in them as well as some nice surprises.
