This is the third video covering the top end rebuild on a 1972 Triumph Trident T150V. This particular details removing the cylinder barrels from the crankcases. (Note that we later decided on a full engine rebuild)
I must be a bit ocd because if I were dismantling an engine this filthy with the thought I may get away with just a top end rebuild, I'd have washed it before starting. I am fastidious when it comes to foreign objects potentially getting in where they can do damage. Keep up the good work.
That's the tricky question that's impossible to answer without dismantling the engine completely. After I've investigated the main bearings and centre con rod big end bearing I'll have a chat with the owner and he can make a decision then, as to whether or not to go for a full rebuild, based on what I've found. 👍
