At the 2024 Borders Classic Bike Show three bikes were ran, all loud (that was the point, and there was an award for the loudest, and this bike, the Parallelogram, won).
The bike is called the Parallelogram due to its unusual rear suspension design. This was to ensure a constant drive chain length, thereby reducing wear in races such as the TT. It was conceived, designed and built by Martin Russell in 1975/76. Although originally powered by a BSA Rocket 3 engine, the engine that now sits in the bike is built around T160 crankcases. Virtually every component on the bike is hand built and unique.
As John explains in the video, the bike has hardly been run in the past 6 years or so.
As at September 2024 the bike is in the care of John Young. The owner is looking to sell the bike.
