One of my best friend died last month and he was an enormous fan of your music, he couldn't listen to your last album, a masterpiece. I tattooed your logo on my wrist for him to always be with me. Listening to Trivium makes me believe he still lives through your music and I will always be thankful for that. ❤
A lot of people mocked and hated Trivium "wanting to be the new Metallica". And here we are, a band that has honed their craft and became one of the most influential/evergrowing metal bands ever. They did warned us.
@@wilson9d71 it wasn't so much them trying to be the new metallica. it was perceived they were trying to be by fans because of how thrashy The Crusade sounds (i love that album btw) but even if they were trying to be the next metallica. who cares? metallica wasn't making music and if trivium is capable of filling those shoes, so be it.
And people think it's cos they are in their own space that's why they sound that good....nah that's literally what they sound like now cos they've reached an almost god like status all of them individually are now top of the mark. Anyone who doesn't headbang after hearing "in the court of the dragon" and it kicks in has serious issues just enjoy it less hate more mosh
Go watch the hanger tour Matt does. It's a sweet set up he also says they wanted to more videos there after The Phalanx. And he says it's hot as he'll in there to explain all the sweat.
Each Trivium album gets better and better. I believe with Alex being a permanent member of the band, they really pushed themselves to greater limits. Beyond proud of my fellow Florida natives! :D
Alex is EXACTLY what Trivium needed for so long after so many came and went. Perfect fit for the band in every way AND he can actually play their stuff live whereas the previous drummers all feel short. This version of Trivium is exactly what I wanted from them since Shogun.
@@KHfan4ever23 couldn't agree More... Shogun was Trivium's masterpiece and was unmatched until Alex's arrival. Now we've got 3 amazing albums (Sin and the Sentence, What the Dead Men Say and In The Court of the Dragon) with Alex on the drums, and I believe both "What the dead men Say" and "In the Court of the Dragon" rival Shogun's Quality and re-listening ability
@@boabesta let's go! some old-school Trivium fans might call this heresy but I also believe Those 2 albums comfortably sit alongside Shogun in the same tier. It must feel so great for a band to finally be able to match their masterpiece. It must feel almost like breaking a curse in a way.
Hard disagree, the vocals sound very unpronounced and are drowned out in the mix during his screams. You can barely understand a word he's saying apart from the quiet moments. His cleans and singing are quite good though I'll admit, but his vocals still have room for improvement in the screaming department
@@lilsisgay I feel he is still finding his way in discovering the perfect way to get the power behind his screams again live while also protecting his voice. Sounds to me like he keeps experimenting to see what works which good on him for protecting himself. And yeah, his cleans are great rn.
@@lilsisgay man i thought i was alone with this, i mean good if screaming works for matt this way, but i never understood why so many people hype his new distorted vocals sound, imo it sounds quite weak and i loved his aggressive screams so much. But i know those were false technique, but compared to other screamers i like (eg j mckinnon) i feel like it lacks a lot of substance now (backseatgaming)
Trivium is at its peak. And if they go on like this, I would probably say this 10 years from now too. I have no words for Alex, he elevated this band to next level. Matt, Corey, Paolo, Alex, you are the fckn best!!!!
Ikr the dude is a total fucking beast. Very quick, all downstroke riffs, tasteful licks and nasty solos that have both quicker and bendy/smoother parts
I've been trying to learn the phalanx and turned on one of their practice session vods to try and see roughly what notes he's playing in the first solo. He nails it fucking flawlessly and I'm here thinking I couldn't get it half that good if I broke up each section and recorded it separately.
For me, and I'm absolutely not a hater, it's that only a few of his solos are memorable. When paying attention to parts in songs like Gunshot, Detonation, Becoming the Dragon, Kirisute Gomen, and Into the Mouth of Hell We March, he's undoubtedly got incredible compositional skills, but Matt's solos are generally more memorable, and he may not play as cleanly, but having your work instantly take up rent in someone's head for a large amount of time is one of the most outright incredible things that one can do, as a musician. It's like with screams, as well. Matt's techniques had obviously cost him a great deal of performance for some time, while Corey's voice is intact, but Corey's screams aren't THE screams that people will associate with Trivium. Corey's not rated more highly just because Matt's a very outwardly iconic person. Presence is what makes someone one of the all-time greats for most people, imo.
Excited to see what they have planned for the hangar. These sessions are dope. Chapman Studios audio was much cleaner though. Hoping they work on this for future hangar content, because their actual performance is fantastic as always. Vocals way too muted in the mix though, as has been a problem with a lot of their live performances the past couple of years minus the Deepest Cuts streams IMO.
@@xxreidxx2362 Even tho you had right technique to scream it is still quite exhausting to your vocal chords cause you blast a lot of air through them and it dries them out. Matt's technique is weaker but if you think that who else screams every single day on stream for multiple hours at a time? No one or correct me if im wrong. The amount of hours he spends singing is almost unhealthy so he has to save it up somehow. Theres a correct way to get some body to his scream while saving but it might be only a mouth shape thing. He is still learning and I bet that in few years he will solve it.
The bass and drums in this song….just extraordinary. This band continues to evolve and make seemingly better and better music that I’ll enjoy for years to come. Thanks guys!!’
Tbh, one thing I haven't liked about Trivium since Vengeance Falls has been the mixing. Studio or live, they never seem to get it right. The In Waves era had such a perfect feel, and it's been gone for a long time. I'd really appreciate them trying out some other engineers, or other producers who can dial in a really dark, confrontational, but clear sound.
Corey straight up is one of the best lead guitarist ever, his style is so original and he’s made not only some of my favorite Trivium songs but SONGS in general
Огонь 🔥 👏 Новый альбом лично меня перенес в 2006 год ! Когда вышел The Crusade только качество выросло ! Ребята прогрессируют и каждый альбом отличается и это круто 😤 успехов
In the thumbnail, Matt looks like he just farted... But suddenly, he realized that it wasn't just a fart hahahaha Jokes aside, I loved the new record! And I hope we can get more live playthroughs like this one.🔥🤘🏼
What a truly incredible band these guys have become. I struggle to explain just how damn good they are. My favourite band and in my opinion they are the best modern metal band right now. So so solid in every way.
The only bands that have a chance of taking that place next year are Avenged Sevenfold and King Gizzard (with the Lizard Wizard included!), and there's no telling if those two bands will even put out what we'd realistically consider metal. Trivium may also drop another album, when no one expects it.
Saw them back in December of 2022 opening for Slipknot when they played for the first time in Guadalajara. They open with this song and it really got stuck in me 🤟🤟🤟
This is sensational....Trivium have never sounded better, and that's saying a lot. Metal perfected ♥️ Thing is, I don't even think this is the peak yet. There is not a better band on the planet right now. Trivium deserve to be selling out arenas over the UK, Europe and USA.
I saw y’all live at the amphitheater in MS y’all sounded fantastic. I still can’t believe y’all came to such a small town now I wish y’all would come back.
This is legit the greatest live performance I've ever heard! And I should know, I've listened to the recorded version of this song already like a million times. Lol!
Words cannot describe the limitless number of hours of enjoyment you guys have given me over the years. Haven't seen y'all (besides the 2020 Twitch livestream) since before WTDMS. These last two albums are your best work since Shogun and In Waves. Absolute masterpieces. Alex is a fucking master and fits the band like a puzzle piece--the only thing Trivium's been missing all these years. Keep doing what you're doing!
Listening to Trivium from over 13 years , many memories ..that music make me feel strong every year , Trivium you are my best gyus keep going until the end !!!
