He's a hell of a showman. Knows enough of a couple languages go do the crowd interactions. There's a vid of them playing Spain where he does a bit of rudimentary Spanish and the crowd loves it

Well, his mother's tongue. Matt actually was an adult learner of Japanese, but pretty good. I know a ton of first gen Americans and it sorta works like this: often, they understand their parents' language, but cannot really speak it.

@@ahoy1they were in Switzerland earlier this year and he even spoke some Swissgerman, which is a dialect that is quite different from standart High German. I was completely blown away from his commitment to learn and speak this niche language and even better, pronounce it almost perfectly.

Opening with Rain and ending with Pull Harder on the Strings of your Martyr made me ecstatic. I have been in a bit of a funk from two years ago @ Blue Ridge rock festival and was very sad to see no Ascendancy or Ember. So this made me happy. I listened to the full release the night of Ascendancy when it dropped. It was a very impactful album. Glad to see them get played again live. So much respect and gratitude for that.
