For all the haters, I really don't get what there is not to like about trivium. Their playing is so tight, songs are catchy, heavy and filled with great riffs and drums work
They're somewhat poppy. A lot of metal fans don't like the formula in their sound. It's somewhere between thrash metal and Nu Metal to my ear. Trivium don't have a terribly unique sound, they're kinda just an okay Thrash band with good marketing gimmicks. Never been a fan, but i love metal so i'm glad they have a following. we can't all be fans of the same band.
Well, people will hate just because some people get a kick out of putting others down. Generally speaking, most people who like metal think Trivium are an amazing band. Definitely my favorite band of all time. They have such unique songs and are very catchy. I dont see many other bands with this level of talent. Remember, their song Betrayer was nominated for a Grammy for a reason :)
+Neighbour Thrashman I think Corey don't have the voice to scream on a full show, as we can hear it on In Waves, I scream and I can recognize when it start to be hard to scream and that's the case for Corey
+Neighbour Thrashman At least now he's able to sing the chorus of PHOTSOYM a bit better than before.. Still kinda sucks though, look for Robb Flynn singing it ;)
Corey still killing it , as a kid i had the conspiracy that corey played in slipknot with a mask as number 7seven, then i realized its a complete other guy.
+SegesFindereFan666 I am sorry but that isn't true! Mick has been in the business longer and has a much different style than Corey.. I have been listening to Trivium and Slipknot about the same time and I have to say, that's wrong..
+dlofnep27 I dont think he is dude, everytime he looks like he's screaming, its only Corey I can hear screaming and sometimes i can hear Matt singing underneath him. I may be wrong but thats what it sounds like. I mean he doesnt even do the opening scream to In Waves
+Karl Dunne it is difficult to hear you can hear it on gunshot I admit corey is much louder Matt has explained on numerous interviews that he is utilising a new technique but it will take a while to master it We also have to bare in mind he blew his voice out just last year that can sometimes take years to recover from so he is making a superb recovery
+Karl Dunne i think hopefully by summer 2016 festivals he will be able to do lead screams again Would absolutely love to hear them play the deceived again my all time favourite trivium song
+Patrick Sharp no men, look how everything sound well in Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr, is the Matt's voice put in the albums! is not his real voice, so sad :(
+Tyrone Thomas The whole thing sounds like shit. Seriously i hope there was a problem on the upload or something and it's wasn't broadcasted on tv like this. If it was, shame on the sound guy. Even basic things like hard panning the guitars isn't done here
+FoxTheBirdKiller What? even when Matt skipped a high note he stayed in key. His pitch wasn't horrible. Paolo is just shouting the notes. Maybe if he were lower in the mix it could worm
Man, Becoming the Dragon is epic live. It has everything, awesome soaring vocals, beastly screams, not one, but TWO guitar solos, AND a bass solo, and of course a break down so hard and fast, it must be accompanied by a brutal circle pit... In fact, last time I saw Trivium live, I lost a piece of tooth in a circle pit that I started in the middle of this very song. Good times.
Sério, incrível, demais os caras são fodas..Não tem como não viciar.Ainda me impressiono como o Mediro conseguiu em 24 horas decorar muitas músicas... Matt sempre com a voz linda.Corey e Paolo impressionando-me.
Nick was a good drummer but I feel like his personal style was a bit "over" Trivium's sound. He just seemed like he wanted to blast beat everything and he seemed like he was all over the place on improv on live shows. Mat really plays with power and feel. To each their own but Mat has been my favorite of Trivium's drummers at least for live shows.
Mat a ordinary hard rock metal drummer, did fine for the old school style songs on crusader, but he cant play the intense metal core style drum parts on the classic song from the Travis era, that now Alex Bent plays effortlessly.
Keep in mind kids, watching a live video doesnt sound the same as actually being there listening to it live yourselves. In other words your opinion on how they sound live is irrelevant unless youve actually seen them.
saw this same exact tour here in potland oregon met the band on the street when they were coming back from dinner got pics and autographs ect they were super nice
Matt is doing an amazing recovery from his throat going out from last year. i do hope he gets better to go completely back to all his lead vocals but glad Corey is helping him out
Something has changed in Matt's ife i dont know if its good or bad but something has changed!!Even the streching earings are gone.i hope he will still play metal and produce awesome musik
I don't think people realize that Matt is off key a lot in this live performance and Paolo's mic is turned off too high so Paolo is of course gonna sound off cuz Matt is off key a lot. I had to listen to this entire performance just to see what you and a few others were talking about. He is also trying to keep up with where Matt's notes start and stop. Just saying.
He's not. You can tell his technique is still a bit off. He's gotten much better though. No more shouting all of the high notes, and he's actually singing live with support and resonance. The nasality is probably due to a lack of full mastery of his nasal resonance, but he's never sounded this good live before.
+TD Ashton yeah he said himself on Jasta's podcast that he wished he had more grit in his voice but he just can't do it. But it sounded pretty gritty on Shogun to me, especially Into the Mouth of Hell We March. I take back what I said about stepping back from the mic though, I watched the In Waves bonus DVD again and he's positioned the exact same as here and his voice was awesome then.
+GlesgaGreg He can't do the grit with correct technique. Before he was just shouting the notes as loud as he could, which is a big no no in belting. He just needs to work on his distortion technique with that coach of his, or even M. Shadows again.
+Gonzalo Chairez I like them, I mean I like rhcp though and Frusciante/ Klinghoffer do falsetto it sort of adds a different dimension and harmony to the music
they need to play rare songs like "MY Hatred ,"TO BURN THE EYE",,TO BELIEVE, "THROUGH BLOOD DIRT AND BONE , o 😀 loovvveee "AS I AM EXPOSING" 💖💖💖💖❤❤❤ my favorite song
Mat Madiro sounds great here...I wonder why they booted him out. Makes no sense to me, especially since he was with them for writing the album and all the studio stuff.
Paolo's voice sounds a little bit dumb here. I was at this show, and we barely heard him at the time, so it wasn't a problem at all. The sound in live condition was more natural than it is on this video.
The video editor never seemed to get the drums in synch with the audio. I see that ALL THE TIME. Why?? It's not that hard! The rest of the audio is synched properly with the video.
Great setlist, but i was really missing like light to the flies, they should have replaced anthem or black with like light... And paolo should not be doing any high backing vocals, matts new found high parts are more than sufficient for vocals
ok...first of all what an amazing performance...they continue to improve as years pass..and matt fuckin heafy HAS A BE FUCKIN HEMOTH PATCH...he got my full respect now \m/
I'm trying to figure out when/where they retuned/switched guitars... cause these songs are not all in the same tuning.... (I know from 7 to 6 string...but I never saw a tuning change from Strife to Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr)
This is terrible. I hate to say it because Trivium is one of my favorite bands, but the mixing on this is absolutely awful. If you listen closely, you can still hear how tight the four of them are and that they are fantastic musicians, but the mixing ruins all of it. Paolo's bass is too loud and muddies the overall sound when its not being drowned out by the drums. To top it all off, Matt's mic is far too low. A great performance, ruined by less than lackluster mixing.
