@@nickstalker3254 Well... There are a lot of "professional" musicians who like to get shitfaced or strung out on drugs before every performance and just shit all over the music every time; Or, professional musicians who are good in the studio when they can have infinite takes and edit everything together, but just suck ass live. I mean yeah, it's his job, but he's still a cut above the rest. Let people compliment him without you being a cynic... he deserves it.
@@nickstalker3254 I'm a jazz trombonist lol, a lot of performers in my community are alcoholics. But, literally look at any band from 70s or 80s. Actually, I'll just link you to a performance of Jimmy Page being essentially on another planet lol. Just look at his face... I think there's even a point that Robert just sort of cuts him off... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CBk-iRihSUg.html

Alex is by far the most technically proficient drummer they've had. Travis had some interesting parts, Nick was proficient but couldn't pull it off live.
The technical difficulties that MKH went through to bring this to life were gigantic. And the fact that we're hearing raw sounds right off the interfaces and right into our stream... Huge. The guys are playing with no in-ear clicks and no backing tracks, what you hear is what they are playing and trust me this is a nightmare for most of the bands out there. Hats off for you guys. All the love ❤️
@Snixbæ Actually, for the band themselves, I think it's much more relaxing since they're in their own practice room, just like a rehearsal. But technical difficulties in the delivery of the performance makes it hard. Things like running the whole band through a mixer and making sure it sounds tight when all you have is a digital streaming platform instead of huge loudspeakers and array speakers that are made for such things. And the fact that Matt and Corey had to manually change the effects on their multieffects boards as well, because in live shows they just run around and the crew takes care of switching the sound effects. (That pedal thingie on the ground). Add all that to the fact that, because it's a livestream, they can't run another track along with them on the software. So their playing can't be carried/maintained/sweetened by additional third guitar harmonies or backing vocals, it's just raw performance. That's of course what I can tell from my own humble experience, others might add more things to the list ✨
@@patraboramie4027 Thanks for mentioning that, hopefully I can find it. I see the sound test on YT but nothing else. Matt probably didn't know about it or see it, there's so many bands out there it's hard to follow everything everyone does. EDIT: It's on their Twitch, BTBAMofficial but for subs only.
The Guevara Seen sooooooooo many bands do live streams. I’ve seen Underoath do like 3 nights of albums in full about a month ago. Then selling the vinyls. Seen bands do full streams / acoustic streams. Trivium aren’t doing anything new BUT they are doing an amazing set and quality.
One of my favorite pair of songs is "of prometheus and the crucifix" and "like calisto to a star in heaven". Those two make shogun one of their best albums XD Both are insane headbanger songs. Such extraordinary display of musicanship is rare.
IMO he shits on any other trivium drummer ever. To me its not close and people just have romantic view of Travis because of the albums which i understand but he didn't add anything to those albums he was generic. Alex actually takes this band to another level.
@@bencampbell5468Trivium can play all of their songs live together as a band. There are a lot that they don't play on tour but they absolutely can play their whole discography together.
@@bencampbell5468 And Vengeance Falls. Heafy said that Villainy Thrives for example is impossible to play and sing at the same time. The verse specifically.
I pissed myself laughing when matt makes a mistake with the lyrics at the beggining of Detonation, you can clearly hear him say "oh oh" then looks sheepishly at the camera then corey and paolo to see if they'd noticed then just carried on LMFAO!!!!!
No man, Paolo and Corey are straight professional. They heard Matt mess up and didnt miss a beat! 😂 then he messes up immediately in No Way To Heal. No hate Matt at all, youre still the shit and we love you for all the years of good jams man!
When yo do this so every one of your fans can have an hour to think of something else that is happening in their lifes... well you guy are the best band out there, doing this for free, for the fan that may have all the money in the world to the one who has been let go of a job!!!! Hats off!!!!🤘🏻
I know Matt went through a crazy amount of technical difficulties to help pull this together but HOLY SHIT this has no business sounding as good as it does. Just unreal.
Listening to "Of Prometheus and the Crucifix" just made my life. Made me think back to being 14 when I was only 4 years into playing guitar, laying in bed with my shitty mp3 player with earbuds in, and riding to the doctor an hour away regularly with my mom, jamming out to the entire Shogun album.
THE REVANCHIST, BABY!!! I got so so many chills from this show, and you absolutely killed it even with the more simple setup! Comes to tell that all your songs are legendary - but The Revanchist is perfection!
This is what love is all about when you love what you do!!!! TRIVIUM for life, I can't believe this guys playing all this songs, can't ask for more God bless this guys no arrogance no divas, just pure ❤ 💙 for the music Thank you TRIVIUM
1st band that got me into heavy metal. Without Trivium, I wouldn't be into heavy metal. I don't know if the guys from Trivium read these comments but I just want to say I am eternally grateful and want to say THANKS to each and every one of you for getting me through some dark times. Keep it metal family \m/
I would love to hear: To burn the eye Declaration Unrepentant He who spawned the furies Drowning in slow motion Through blood and dirt and bone Dead and gone Beauty in the sorrow Any off WTDMS
My dream comes true: 1st time played live: "Bending", "Skyline's", "Prometheus", "Revanchist". Long time: "Ascendancy", "Schylla & Charybdis", "The Rats", "Detonation" We need a T.D.C. II with some songs of 'Ember', 'Vengeance', 'Snow, & 'Sentence' albums. It would be AWESOME 👏😀
I can't express how happy it made me to hear Callisto live. It has been my favorite Trivium song since day 1 and it meant so much to be able to hear it and finally see how Corey plays that damn solo!
@@xxreidxx2362 Just set the youtube speed to .75 or .50 and it makes it a lot easier. I can learn it by ear at this point knowing that it's just shredding and not sweeps/tapping.
Seeing any band or performer doing something like this is really cool, impressive, and speaks so highly of them when they are so committed to the fans... ...but when the music is at this level, and they’re doing it “DIY” as he says, you just can’t help but respect them even more. One of the best groups of guys out there, period.

Our species has always adapted to situations and the Covid era is no different, Trivium have shown that even if we can't physically be in the same room, being able to see them play and with quality sound and production is very possible nowadays Thank you so much, I paid for the Full Sail Show and this was just as fun to listen to and watch, as soon as we can have shows again I'll be seeing you in a UK venue once more that's for sure and if you plan on releasing some live recordings on CD I'll definitely buy 1 🤘😈🤘
Honestly, this has to be one of the best Trivium live performances I've seen online! The audio is exceptional for a live stream, the song choices are great, and all the members of the band seem to be really relaxed and having a lot of fun! Looking forward to more of these!
Thanks for the recording over here, was going to rewatch it on Twitch because I unfortunately missed it when it was live due to other activities. Great to hear some of these songs in this setting. Thanks guys!
Thank you guys so much for these shows! As a fan since Ember who’s never gotten a chance to see you live when you were in the area, it’s amazing to get these shows during this time! Not to mention seeing so many of my favorites that never show up in a lot of live sets, can’t wait for 3!
The Revanchist had to be my favourite. I can't believe how high Matt's vocal range is. That chorus was just awesome! This and Other Worlds are the two off TSATS that I would've loved to have seen live.
So pissed I missed this live. Here to give the like and say Trivium fucking rock. Real metal in a world full of plastic. I want that drum kit lol. Have fun and stay safe guys.
I've been a nonstop fan ever since Ascendency. I'm so proud of this band. You can actually tell their work ethic is sharp because every time their playing gets better and better. I love you guys! Love from Puerto Rico ❤
I was woken up by this show on autoplay and now I can't go back to sleep, I have to hear the whole thing. It's incredible. Thank you, Trivium, for consistently being one of the most solid performers in the industry and doing what you do. You have an impressive opus, so I respect the fact that you always manage to pull out and mix so many older songs with whatever new stuff you're promoting. Shogun and In Waves are legendary.
It absolutely makes it even better that they're playing songs that have rarely if at all been played live. Suffocating Sight is one of my favorite songs ever!!!
@tacoburrito Swanson absolutely. I've loved mostly everything they've done but maybe it's just nostalgia that gets the best of me when I put on Ascendancy. That's just one of those records I can't just listen to one song, if a song randomly plays on whatever Playlist I'm listening too I'll immediately just go to album and listen to it's entirety. Iowa by Slipknot is in that same exact category.
Always loved the bass in 'Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis'. The start of it almost sounds like a different genre of music, like a techno-metal/instrumental. It's badass.
Thank you so much, Trivium. You are my favorite band since I first heard you 2005. This was an absolute killer-setlist, and Im so happy that you published it on yt beacause I was not able to attend live. Warm regards from Sweden!
First-timer here. This is really cool! I'd literally never heard your stuff before, but this is a killer introduction. Thank you for doing the free show, and props to you for doing deep cuts!
I love everything about this, but let me just say this. Watching how effortlessly Alex plays is so very soothing to witness. Cant wait to see you guys again one day soon!
Matt, Paolo, Cory and Alex: thanks for putting this together! Awesome sound, awesome setlist, great performance. And all this for free! This made my whole week!
Thank you so much Trivium, been supporting you guys since Ascendancy and you guys continue to give me goosebumps hearing your songs for the first time live. Thanks for Prometheus!! Keep doing what you guys do! \m/
The Revanchist sounds even better live than the studio version because it’s a song I can easily envision a crowd singing along with them and Matt hits those crazy high notes!
Like Callisto to a star in heaven sounds absolutely amazing.. the way Matt sings it live wholly shit.. goose bumps all over!!! Please take it into your live catalogue.. 🖤💪💪
Somehow The Crusade songs felt the most immersive. Even with Matt forgetting the words. What an incredible setlist. Just relived about 15 year of my childhood. Covid turned out good for something!
Thank you guys so much for making your sets available to people who can't make it to the shows. I've seen you guys twice. Once with Slipknot/C&C, and once with In Flames/VoM. Can't wait for next year!
I swear Trivium is the greatest band ever. The Light from a Distant Mirror tour inspired me to do something here in North Carolina. I got together with a venue here in Greensboro called Club Orion's and were going live September 4th with some awesome local metal bands from all genres. I wouldnt have had the idea or the balls to do it without Trivium absolutely rocking my house with amazing live content so thank you guys so much for getting ahead of the curve and inspiring local metal bands to do something during this trying time. Also hearing No Way to Heal today made my entire god damn month so FUCKING THANK YOU PAOLO!!!
yo I'm in greensboro! I'll try and make it out! My band was supposed to have a big show on Aug. 29th but we decided to call it bc the dynamic went super south. I'd love to come support!
@@jamessmith8284 Dude that would be amazing! Our band is called Final Punishment if you wanna get an idea of what we sound like. Even if you couldn't make it out you could always tune in on Facebook! Such is the beauty of an internet based concert. \m/
@tacoburrito Swanson Thank you dude! I literally just found an awesome sound guy to hire for the night so now I'm a little less worried about the sound. Everyone's support means a whole hell of a lot though :D
It was an awesome show: On the next Deepest Cuts show play: Incineration: The Broken World Wake (The End is Nigh) The Rising This World Cant Tear Us Apart The Crusade (Instrumental) Shogun He Who Spawned the Furies Lake Of Fire Caustic are the Ties that Bind Chaos Reigns Cease all your Fire The Darkness of My Mind At The End of this War Ember to Inferno Demon Other Worlds Gunshot
It's really nice seeing Matt and Trivium so active with streaming and putting on live shows considering the circumstances today! Let alone a full live, deep cut set. My other favorite bands aren't really putting any content up at all these days.....good on Trivium!
