dannyfrance1997 what sucks even more is that Corey actually hates having to do unclean vocals. He's vocal chords are probably worse off than matts, the difference is just that he doesn't have to do cleans whereas Paolo does.
Juan Mendez he learnt how to scream using the correct technique, whereas Matt blew his chords from using the wrong method for years (corey has a fucking heavy scream, so his chords are probably stronger too as you say:)
he probably had a better technique, but matt did the majority of vocals, both cleans and screams, while corey and paolo only did backups and so it took a much lesser impact on their voices
Just better technique. Look at David Vincent of morbid angel. His voice has just gotten better with age and he’s in his 50s now, and he isn’t someone to pull back on the power
Okay, this is the first time I've actually thought that his new melodeath cleans really gelled well with an old song. I would love to see this one live. Heck, I would even argue that his new style of singing sounds better in this song than his old style.
Lol it's crazy to watch them perform this song in this video and then watch them perform it in the 2006 Download video. It's like listening to 2 different bands. Still good either way. But I feel like they used to play with more emotion. Hopefully they'll get back to that soon.
Matt and Paolo should get a trick out of Corey's book. He's like 3 years older then them but outperforms them everytime. Comeone guys, pick it up and get reckless!
Justin Barbour bc he was screaming da wrong way for over a dozen years on purpose. It eventually got so bad he had to get vocal lessons so he could learn how to scream properly. Now he is back on track and sounds better than better 🤘
Glad they took out Mat, he's a good drummer and plays very good! BUT he's super boring to look at live and he clearly can't make drum parts. The drumming on Silence in the snow is very boring, frustrating and repetitive. He uses the same "drumfill" in every song, multiple times and as a drummer that is annoying to listen through.
He blew out his vocal chords due to improper screaming technique. He physically couldn't do the entire song. He just started screaming again this year (2016).
