I really, really admire young Brian. The fact that he was willing to put himself out there even though he didn’t know what he was doing is exactly why Trixie is so successful
@@jamesfletcher3202 no, because everyone has to walk before they run. and if young Trixie would've doubted herself, we'd never have the Trixie we know and love today
@@eliaol4231 Drag queens usually go be she/her pronouns as a part of their drag persona, since they are playing this character they've created who is a woman, it's matches their drag character to use she/her pronouns rather than the performer's irl/everyday pronouns. Kind of like how Bart Simpson's voice actor is a woman, but you wouldn't refer to Bart as she/her or the actor as he/him because the character and person who portrays Bart are not necessarily one in same. I understand that it can be a little confusing though initially since a lot of drag queens who don't technically go by she/her in their everyday lives will use she/her interchangeably with other pronouns (like he/him, they/them etc) to refer to themselves and usually other queens when they are not dressed up in drag/in a drag performance setting, but it's generally because a lot of queens are used to being referred to as she/her so often in their professional lives that it becomes normalized and naturally bleeds over into casual settings I hoped this helped some! 🌼
Yeah, but she definitely always picks up more of the Wisco when she's copying it and right after that. I rarely hear it otherwise, but it's such an inspirational thing that I might truly get that far away from it, and I know mine isn't even that bad.
Have you ever read Prelude to Foundation by Isaac Asimov? In the book the main character takes shelter in a city called Mycogen where the inhabitants learn how to cultivate "microfoods" out of yeast products. It sounds SO BORING but I promise it's not. It's part of my favorite book series. At my funeral I want everyone to sit and listen to the entire series being read by Scott Brick because my life would be very different if not for these books.
That's what I was thinking the whole time! Any time you start something new you're gonna be bad at it! That's why so many adults don't try very many new things..I need to start trying new things. :(
honestly, baby brian is just so cute to me. like imagine him getting to see where trixie is now, and what his life is like now. it’d probably be MINDBLOWING, being just a sheltered closeted kid from wisconsin, to be able to see the success that his passion brought him
She would come in late and declare that today is a 'movie day' and throw on happy gilmore while she quietly argues with her bf on the school phone. And everyday would be a variation of that.
@@Wolfsinger96 I know, but young Trixie has a strong Midwestern accent, whereas older Trixie has a General American accent. When people say an American has a particular accent in North America, they mean a specific regional or city based one.
I love how Trixie acts like covering her eye in black cream gel liner was crazy back then, when she does a full on isosceles triangle of liner nowadays haha 😂
if i was a 19 year old trans kid (which i was, once) and you were a 19 year old gay boy wearing full makeup at my college i would be looking at you like "wow, he's so cool, i want to be myself the same way that guy is himself" and honestly, nothing else really matters when you're 19. so good job baby trixie
As a fellow old, this is extremely late 00s early 10s in a way that makes me very happy. It's very stopping by the MAC counter on your way to the cheesecake factory after you just saw a pirates of the caribbean movie and your friend is in hot topic buying arm warmers.
This comment sent me time traveling and I got whiplashed into an Abercrombie&Fitch that’s pumping music and perfume. Everyone is mad because a police officer peppers sprayed some Occupy Wall Street student protestors but im excited because my mutuals are talking about how cool it would be to have a Tumblr convention, just like comic con but for all our fandoms! Maybe in a few years we can get one up and running!
This is funny to look back on but hearing her say "who was I doing this for" all i can think of is all the men out there who could have stumbled across these videos and found it really affirming to see another man wearing makeup the way they wanted to, or did and that makes me happy :3
i missed a bit and when i heard her say “i want the 50 year old tired life long smoker and drinker sun damaged show hag” and i thought she was talking about Katya
In Young Trixie’s defense, that third look is very Good Charlotte! And we ALL have makeup tragedies in our histories (looking at you, Heavy Black Eyeliner In Middle School Me). Good for you for having the confidence to do this back then!
It was all about the deep smoky eyes with maybe two different colors and absolutely nothing else on the face- no brows, no face shaping, no color corrector, no concealer except for the lips, and a foundation waaaay to orange
As funny as this was, at the end it was kinda heart warming seeing how much Brian evolved. I adore this person so much for being their 100% authentic self. Keep inspiring us kween! 💗
@@miss_elaineous_ The only thing I remember about being 20 is one time being drunk in the middle of the night and wanting to go to the park, so I leave my house and the cops come and they're like "are you drunk?" and I was proudly like "yes, and I'm an underaged drinker." lol
I love that the more frustrated Trixie gets, the stronger the natural accent comes out, it's like talking/shouting to yourself brings out all sorts of inner demons.
With that raggedy wig it's giving RuPaul in her early days after a night working in New York, when her and Nelson Sullivan go to a convenience store. Simply put both iconic
I know it's supposed to be funny, but also have to say that I have so much respect for young Trixie; takes a ton of guts to put yourself out there as an amateur, especially at that age. I could never! Shows that hard work and hustle pays off :)
does anyone else agree that Trixie is going to be the next RuPaul? I'm not saying that Trixie can replace Ru (no one could) but she's the only queen that's capable of being as big of an icon as Ru is.
I fully believe this. She does everything. And I feel like Rupaul spent her earlier years making friends with important people and changing their minds on what drag was by being personable and I think Trixie is doing the same thing and casting a very wide net and in 10 years all the people she's worked with today will be doing with her what guest judges from back in the day are doing with rupaul, today.
"One day i started doing make-up, i had no idea what i was doing and It didn't improve for years" that's what womanhood was like back ay the day before the internet, It Is hillarious
I love how Trixie is talking like she doesn’t still put a liquid/paint base all over her entire lid before applying shadow :p like it’s a thing of the past lol
