I'm a professional wood refinisher. Ideally, you'd still want to sand to bring out even more of the amber tone (you're probably halfway to that now). Then I'd consider using Watco Teak oil. Or the teak oil product from Semco. For the highest-end, you can use a pure tung oil mixed with a solvent. Milk Paint company makes a half/half pre-mix that's great. That takes a lot of time to apply correctly though. Hope that helps.

Im 30 with a family and just bought my first classic car and now starting to think our family needs our own yacht. This boat u have is awesome! Cant wait to see more and learn more.

Hey Wizard I'm just a random guy that details gelcoat on the side. Every boat is different and there's no one approach that will make all boats look good. Marine 31 products will be fine, but remember any cleaner wax products can be deceiving because the amount of oils in them can make it look like you've removed all the oxidation and scratches. Once the oils and wax dissipate your boat will be looking back like it did before you started. I'd recommend doing a multi step process on that boat because it's been neglected for so long. I know your time is money so multiple steps may not be ideal for you, but it's what that boat really needs. First a heavy cut compound with a compounding wool pad to get the oxidation out. Then a light grit compound (or polish if the gelcoat is looking good at that point) with a compounding wool pad or polishing wool pad to really work out the fine scratches. All really depends on what the gelcoat is showing you after each step. Then clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol to remove the oils from the compound/polish so a quality polymer wax will really get in there and she'll be looking great. If you do all that you're maintenance work down the road will be far easier. Don't use carnauba wax!

Hey Wizard love the videos. I’m a woodworker and I’d recommend putting a mix of 1/3 Oil Based Spar Varnish 1/3 turpentine 1/3 Boiled Linseed Oil on that teak - and repeat once to twice a year. It’s better than anything you’d get at a store and a lot cheaper. Should protect the teak well (that stuff is expensive)

You and Mrs. Wizard will make perfect boat owners because you have the ability to trouble shoot and fix things. Boats are always a in need of some sort of work and if you aren't prepared for that reality then you won't like owning one. You've done a nice job with this one!! Congratulations!!!

Or you could just go with “MoneyTree”. I’m also reminded of the old adage “If it floats, flys or fornicates, Rent it” so Going broke could be a name too. I've had my boat for about 15 years. There are several stages of boat ownership. First is the enthusiasm. Next is doubt as you realize it makes no sense, and the expenses never end. Then you hate the boat so much you want to give it away or pay someone to take it. ...good luck Wizard!

There is only one name that could possibly be applied to this boat: "Hoovies Money".

Novus Plastic Polish is the stuff for polishing soft plastics like that isinglass. It's what BMW reccomended in its service manuals for polishing old school soft top plastic back in the day. It'll remove the yellowing (usually a superficial oxidation) and make it crystal clear again. A VERY careful application of heat (heat gun/steam wand/etc) will help remove any deeply set wrinkles.

Hey Wizard! Not sure if you’ll see this but there’s a good plastic polisher called Novus 7100 and it usually comes in a 3 spray kit! Works wonders on vinyl. I’ve used it on my miata’s that I’ve owned and it’s helped clean up and make it easier to look through the vinyl back window. It’s worth trying!!

I really enjoyed them. My last sailboat was a 36 foot Catalina. We had some beautiful trips along the west coast of the USA. Boats are a lot of fun as long as you keep using them. I had all the fun I wanted with them, and now do not own one anymore. But it is really nice to see you and your wife are enjoying this motor yacht.
