Take your kayak to Shelton Lake! It's stocked with Kokanee and has wild rainbow trout. Both are the best tasting fresh water fish. I normally troll for kokanee to one end than fish for trout and troll back. It's up past Second Lake in the mountains and only open on weekends. You'll have to check Mosaic map since they own the roads for logging and close the gates for fire prevention, but they update every Thursday with gate hours and openings for the weekends. Btw watch out when wearing waders on a boat. If you fall in, they get filled up with water and make it almost impossible to swim. They make a pant version made for boats called a bib.
Thanks for the tip @Suspicious0ne ! I was up at first like the other day checking out the area. Any bears?? I was thinking of bringing my dog with me and trying for rainbows on a slow troll. Ive been having luck using a small pink hoochie. As for the bib, ya I put those on because we launched out of Charlaine during low tide and I had to hold the boat. Normally I don't wear em fishing but it was a bit chilly and wet that day! See you out there!
Nice fish buddy! I’m curious what the weights and lengths of your fish are.. would you consider showing weights and lengths of your more significant fish? As a viewer I was hoping for that info. We have been fishing out of sooke last few seasons and the fishing has been pretty good. If you’re ever down this way feel free to drop a line. Keep them vids coming. Love it
Hey thanks for the comment! I was down in Sooke check out some area to kayak fish but it seems the currents run strong down there. The season seems to be longer and limits higher in your area.
