We used the 2" inch Berkley Minnow's behind a flasher and had some great success with the Rainbows, we also learned that the big German Brown's like this presentation alot. Thank you for the information and sharing your knowledge.
my fav lake has the salmon run up the rivers from the ocean to spawn in the fall. then in the spring, all the fry is flushed out of the spawning creeks and into the lake. and the trout gourge on the massive balls of fry. trolling a fly works the best. but I tried this exact method a couple years ago, with these same gulp minnows. figured they would get smashed, they look just like the fry. never even got a hit. i'll try it again some day though.
So weird because Kokanee don't even eat bait fish. Kokanee feed almost exclusively on zooplankton and tiny aquatic animals, insects and shrimp ranging from the size of a pin prick to the size a small fishing hook. It must be a territorial thing they have with bait fish, what do you think?
