*This makes my old motor look like a toy **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it's well built. I haven't had it on the water yet, but I'm very sure it will perform just fine.*
A follow up note: The information your video provided made a some what "scary" task a lot easier than expected. The plates work great and using them avoided buying a custom boat cover at ($$$). Once again thank you very much. God Bless !
Getting a Xi5, SW, 105lb thrust, 36V, GPS, 60" shaft for a Triton 240 LTS Bay Boat. I ordered the R+R Design plate yesterday and will top it off with the MOTORGUIDE QR BRACKET ALUMINUM BLACK, Part No : 8M0092064. Because of the turn down on the Xi5, I read on BBC from Diel11, it will need another 1/8" shim to get the clearance to slide. You are correct, from all my extensive searches it is the "Go To" plate most use after having used the other slide plates. I have mounted all my previous TM so I could relate to your every step. You did a great job explaining what a lot of other videos may leave out. It does not hurt to watch someone else do it to confirm all the little things that have to be considered but easily forgotten. Sometimes these steps maybe not explained to the first timer mounting their TM and or bracket. Great video and I subscribed. I hope to post my install on my channel when everything come in. +240LTS Now that I have used the plate for awhile the only issue I see is more slack then the Minnkota plate. It's not an issue but it can be annoying when it "clunks" at certain angles. When my install season winds down some I'm going to look at a thumb screw somewhere on the bracket to mesh them together. Let us know when you get the video posted. I would post more install type videos but it's tough to get my camera woman to cooperate for long..... lol
+Pickwick Marine Electronics There should be no reason either one end (or on both ends, front and back, on the starboard side) the side can't be drilled, tapped and put thumbs screws to keep it from "clunking". Mine may arrive this week so I'll check it out. . Jeff 240 LTS .
+Pickwick Marine Electronics I received the R+R Design plate, the MG black aluminum QR plate and the Xi5 the other week. I see what you mean about the possibility of the R+R plate being a bit loose. I did drill and tap a 1/4"x20 hole on the top, outer piece on the front starboard side. Bought a thumb (screw) knob from Home Depot. Cut the head off a 1/4"x20 bolt to the correct length and permanently fixed it into the thumb knob. Now when in either position, front for deployment or back when retracted, I just turn the thumb knob to press against the inner, bottom plate and no more movement. I may add one to the back if it is needed. I plan to put the install video together when I get time. Thanks, . Jeff 240 LTS

Nice video. Very Educational. I was considering a bracket like this on my Stratos 176VLO because I have a MINN Kota Power Drive V2 and after two attempts Stratos can't seem to make a cover for the boat and the installed Trolling Motor. After watching this video I can see that I need to get a bracket that allows me to totally remove my trolling motor so I can install the cover. Although the bracket does give more room for a cover the height of the tolling motor is actually the problem.
Any good canvas shop should be able to modify your cover. I have a customer with a 21ft Ranger and a local shop modified it to fit his Ulterra on one of these brackets. The simply put a "pocket" in the cover that fits the height of the motor.
I agree. The Cover was part of the deal that came with the boat. Stratos has a contractor that makes the cover for their boats modified for the trolling motor option. This is the second one they sent me that isn't right. I'm not going to pay a canvas shot to fix something that is supposed to be free of charge. They need to ether fix the cover or pay the dealer to install a quick release plate.

So the bolt on the side keeps it from sliding off the front if the front notch is passed? Is there a place to connect a cable tether to the sliding plate?
I'm ready to buy one and I've been doing some looking and research turns out there's so many of these slides what would be the advantage of this one over some of the others if you know?
I've used them all for the most part. This one slides easily and is very well made compared to the others. You will have to call them if you want to order one.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I need to mount the bottom base further back when my bow mount stand is and then have the top slide forward when deploying. In your install the base plate is installed forward and when storing the top plate slides backwards. Do you think this mount can be reversed?
There has to be enough room for the terrova/ulterra to launch past the nose of the boat. That overrides anything else. If that doesn't make sense let me know and we can discuss it further.

No but if you are worried about the plates separating that isn't going to happen with this design. Security wise you might talk to them and see if they can add something. I have replaced a few "theft" jobs for folks and will say the best "lock" is good insurance. I have seen boats really damaged with locks on units and they still stole them.
It looks to me that the top piece that mounts to the motor retracts from the back as shown on the video but also looks like it slides off from the front too, or is there a lip that catches so it won't slide forward, if the clicking screw were to be disengaged would it slide forward and off
