Trolling motor replacement rope or cable

thanks for watching, glad my video helped. the cable is so much more responsive than the rope, no stretch at all. yeah 3/32 is the correct size through 1/4 I.D. clear hose.

James, thanks for the question I chose 1/8 cable and threaded it through 1/4 tubing. That setup fits together very we'll Hope this helps

Conan, thanks for the question. The easiest way is to remove the trolling motor, then you have easy access to the spring where you can run the cable through. Let me know if I can help any further. By he way the cable is so much better than a rope. Maybe manufacturers will take notice and start using cable.

thom rider Did you have the special swage crimping tool to put the double and single crimps on the cable. I have all of the parts, just not the crimper. I am going to use 1/16 cable for the ease of feeding through my great white gator mount but I don't have the special swage crimper which costs 20.00.

Hawkeychef, I just used vise grips to crimp the cable. You will love how responsive the new cable is when pulling up the trolling motor.

You have to push the spring and bolt back with either a stick or a piece of wire. I used a stick mine happened on the water and I found a limb that worked.
