Walmart wants you to get caught slipping to do shit like this. Have you ever thought when they give you options after purchasing whether to print, email, and no receipt. They gave me hell one time over 5 dollar cat litter when I picked the email option. Why give your customers choices if there's only one option.
According to Walmart policy and training, they are now allowed to do this. If the customer denies having their receipt checked, they are supposed to say "Thank you for shopping at Walmart" and let the customer leave. This is a no-no. Source: I work as a front-end associate at Walmart.
@@Felix-bb2rx Depends on the management and what they choose to do. You could get fired. You could get reprimanded for it. You could get a slap on the wrist. Termination is the worst case scenario. Is it worth arguing and fighting with the customer over stupid pranks and stuff like this when he already paid for it?
@@Felix-bb2rxyes they can get fired especially the dude that took him into the office now they detained him for no reason and no evidence and they definitely didn’t fallow apo9 so yeah thats a lawsuit and canned lol
I know people on RU-vid generally seem to want to believe that nobody needs to show receipts, but I don’t want people to get into trouble. So, just in case, this is how it works (I am not posting this to be right or to correct others per se, so no need to tell me I am an idiot and I know nothing, okay?). It’s not that simple, and it would be in YOUR best interest to show receipt when requested. I will tell you why. It is true that stores cannot detain you or require proof of purchase *without* probable cause. In other words, stores can only check receipts and/or detain you if they have sufficient reason to believe that you have shoplifted. Given this back drop, the following is what is legally likely to transpire: 1. It is within your prerogative to refuse to show your receipt upon exit because the store must have probably cause to check your receipt and/or to detain you. 2. But, ironically, refusing to show receipt upon request constitutes “probably cause” the store needs! So, it becomes perfectly legal for the store to compel you to show proof of purchase. 3. If you do not comply, cops are likely to get involved and you will be detained-only to be asked by the cops to show proof of purchase. So, unless you actually shoplifted, refusing to show receipt is a dumb thing to do-and it will only waste YOUR time along with everyone else’s time and other resources.
You legally have to have a receipt to show you purchase the item before you leave the store of Walmart as you were still on private property with their items. They can keep the items and sure you paid for it or if you leave the store without doing so call the cops and have you trespass and charge for theft
@@Mr-skellybones they don't need to know moron. it's on them to prove you stole it you don't have to show them anything. if they think you stole it they can go check their cameras. there's no law requiring you to show a receipt idiot.
@@Mr-skellybonesmy local stores put a sticker on the product on the product when sold. Its quite a simple fix really I guess Walmart specifically cheaps out on that option at the expense of their workers.
@@isabelamogosanu7777 give them the receipt? costco isn't walmart moron. you have to show receipts at costco because you literally signed a contract when you signed up for a membership clown.
@@2Drawfrom the Walmart employee's perspective, he was stealing. They have no idea he is not stealing, but they can't legally hold him. Only law enforcement can hold him. That's why some stores have security
If they don’t want people to cause drama cos you harass them, abolish the self checkout and employ real people to work the registers. Just cos you didn’t see someone go through the self serve don’t mean they didn’t. Once your out of store, that’s it. These receipt checkers are commuting an unlawful act. Big brother fuckung with the little people once again.
@@michaelangst6078Its a grey area in the law and technically as soon as that money is taken from your account the product is now your property. You dont sign any agreement when you walk into a walmart. A sign is not enough to require you to show a receipt. In stores like Costco or Sams Club ita a different story because you have to sign a membership agreement.
Walmart needs to get with the program. MOST of us don't want reciepts and some places neglect to give you a reciept (or they print it and throw it in the recycle since you did not ask for the reciept). Even Costco's purpose is not to harrass you. I'm surprised more lawsuits against Walmart haven't happened due to false accusations. Such lawsuits could help to abolish draconian practices. I mean, who even keeps the reciepts.
@Woods10995 what if I bought $235.00 worth of groceries consisting of $5 budget gourmets and pot pies? Heck, it'd be funny if Bill Gates went to Walmart and decided to buy $100 worth of toilet paper for his McMansion mojo dojo casa house? They accused him of stealing then Walmart gets sued for 4.5 billion plus defamation of character.
Funny yes, the notes were hilarious, but you know wal mart is just going to change to a whole foods type store right? Where you have to scan to get in and as soon as you pick up the item its billed to you.
Wow, is this something that really happens in America? Where I'm from, there is absolutely no need to show a receipt to anyone to leave pretty much any store. This just feels so absurd to me.
Ngl dude i love your videos, specially the pawn shop ones. But i gotta say it, you can get recipt checkers in trouble and they could even potencially lose their jobs... You got huge charisma, dont blow it to hell with this specific pranks!! Anyways, keep making us laugh in the healthiest way possible for everyone!!
@@jaimepimentel1502 they all get power hungry tho. like no one is required to stop, that isnt illegal. im glad they got a little trolling considering how often they racially profile people
@@isabelamogosanu7777 yes they are required to stop, that is not racially profiling, other day I went to Walmart with my family we all end up stopping, and complying to show receipt even though the guy never touched he only saw and waved us through, that is the proper etiquette to do.
He just got arrested for doing the same thing. This time a cop showed up real quick. At the end the Walmart employees were laughing at him in cuffs being taken away.
on feburary 12th 2018 I was attacked by a rabid B.B.C in Central Park, NYC. I tried to fight back but was left with lacerations and 3rd burns when it blew its load. Traumatized and dazed i somehow escape and share my story to this day.
@gort9623 I feel like that'd be a damn hard case to make in court (assuming it would be legal if he hadn't actually paid) seeing that he purposefully led them to believe he's stealing. Not that I'm a lawyer or anything
@@gort9623 But this seems less like him assuming he's stealing and reacting to being told he's stealing. The whole point of the joke is that the poster is, in a roundabout way, just admiting to stealing
