As a delivery driver, this scares the crap outta me. Some people are completely different when they're hangry, and I've had coworkers get guns pulled on them while on deliveries. Pranks like these in the wrong areas can be super dangerous, and there really should be some kind of warning not to reproduce this kind of prank without experience. I'm sure more experienced drivers would know when it's a safe enough delivery to do a prank, but it's still not something that should be done regularly or recklessly.

Dashers can expect to make 20-25 an hour minus gas. It's not top dollar. If you cant throw the person 5 bucks, expect your food to arrive cold. Period. Nobody is taking orders for less than a dollar a mile.
@Karl with a K no you are bugging, I’m a driver and I don’t make top dollar. You are a very evil and heartless person if you expect someone to drive miles to your house, use their gas, give you the luxury of bringing food to your doorstep and not even slide them a few dollars. It’s crazy how greedy people can be sometimes
@Karl with a K if you take into account wear and tear on your vehicle it's around 17/hr. I made around 25-30$/hrworking at pats pizzaria(on top of my mechanic job thank you very much) Most people who work deliveries part time have full-time jobs. Hard to think of anything besides going for a degree that would be more qualifying than working 2 jobs just so you can have nice things every once in a while. You make a good point about the stone cold food though. Have them remake--I will take that tip to heart.
@Karl with a K and one more thing, and I'll let this die: delivery people have a very high rate of on-the-job fatalities...more so than many other fields. 25$ hr-5/hr for gas atleast. And that's all on a smooth sailing day, dealing with people who are much more understanding than you seem to be.
as a fellow door dasher that does it part time to make some extra cash i appreciate the love. Some people are real assholes and will give you low ratings even if you are on time or even early with the food, its fucked.
Fr like the least you can if your gonna be to lazy to get your own food at least tip more if there going far. It’s not the hard. I’ve tipped 20 dollars before for somebody going really really far and was happy
What's pretty good tip? Like I tip like $3-4 usually and the places are typically 1-3 miles . Typically spend around 12-$20 is that good? And is it good to do the rating after order? Like the 1-5 stars? Does that help?
@@wowitsruss that’s reasonable for the distance. But I’ll get orders all the time for like 8-10 miles, and the tip is 3.50 which means their not even customer tips, only the door dash base pay. Like I only do it part time so I don’t rely on doordashing for my main income but I’m sure a lot of people do. The best is when you roll up to a mansion with foreign cars in the driveway and they tip about 2 bucks.

I just came across Your video and it's so funny. I can relate to Your video because I use to work for Door Dash and it be the small orders that the customer doesn't tip. I recall I accepted a low order and literally drove 40 minutes to deliver it. One reason I stopped taking low orders.
*Bro imma Dasher and I just wanna say thank you for doing this on our behalf lol.* Normally I never complained about no tips or angry customers, but now being homeless and on a busted up bmx bike.. a little gratitude goes a long way. Especially since I’m the type who wants to make sure others are satisfied before myself. Like I remember doordash sent me to an abandoned gas station in the complete opposite direction of the customers address.. so the 10min order turned into 1hr 1/2. Felt bad about the ice cream being melted so I signed off, cashed out, and went back and bought the customer another one. When I went to hand it to them they just took it and closed the door... then went out of their way to say I never delivered their food cuz they wanted to try and get their meal for free.. Luckily they didn’t because I documented everything from the time I arrived to the gas station. I can’t even get a legit job due to lack of transportation/housing, so it hurts knowing people will happily jeopardize my only source of income, just for a free meal they coulda easily went and got themselves. Anyway I’m done venting lol. Definitely have to sub 👌🏽

Telling someone you smashed their food because they didn't tip would have been a funnier joke if the customer actually did tip. I can see why the last woman got so defensive. I always wonder if bad service is due to the driver not thinking I tipped enough (I always give $4-5 for deliveries).
