Well its more of excessive pressing, high notes do require a seal of the lips and with that tension one most move the mouthpiece closer(unless you are a dry lip player), however when you force the horn to your lips is when it turns bad

I tried this..it's okay. I prefer to start on a note lower but on the same partial. Then gliss up to the note I want to hit. Works pretty good. I want to hit an A an octave above staff. I could play an F# then gliss up to the A

I'm a tuba player who's been playing trombone for a few years now, and by some miracle made the top jazz band at my school... meaning I'm the only trombone in a small ensemble. I have a good range on tuba but trombone just doesn't come as naturally, and the parts I've been given are super high (for me). Going down the octave isn't really an option since I'm the only trombone. Any tips?

Gwyn C just keep building your chops every day. Whether it be by extending your scales with octaves higher and higher every day or just going up the notes with your chromatic scale

You can check out Christopher Bill's video on the matter too, its way better than this one (sprry not sorry). Try playing higher and higher as you are getting more comfortable and dont forget to not create extra tension. You're embouchure naturally follows the speed of the air, if your air is getting fast enough (which tales practice) you ll get a good high range in no time!

I play trombone and I still can't hit the really high notes, I can play high notes but not really high notes, but it ok because I just started playing last year anyways
