Agreed! What distracts you more is that in the middle of that short Bit segment is RAMs death scene. [edited out here]

The awe that movie gave the viewer, bringing them into a world of code inside the games was life changing for many that watched it in its time.

I guess you could say that he’s a bit character.

it would have been nice to see the next step, a byte, either being a larger bit or 8 bits working together.

I think that window is part of the lounge that Flynn tumbles into... hard to tell. But would have loved bit to find his way back at some point... 🥺

@@8BiitThat is the forcefield the Recognizer employs to provide security when it powers down. You might notice it only forms after Flynn has tumbled away from the Recognizer and the Recognizer has lost power. Why it wasn't there when Flynn and RAM initially stumble upon the Recognizer, I don't know.

@@protoborg Hmm... nice. Probably because the recognizer was totally destroyed when they found it, and Flynn used his "user powers" to reconstruct it and Ram recognizes him for who he truly is.

Like makeup or stunts, the best cgi work goes by unnoticed. They certainly can do things today that are amazing. Tech has changed so much. But, in 1980-81, when they made this movie, there wasnt much tech at all, esp in this field. In fact, the whole movie was so ahead of its time most didnt know Ram was named after random access memory, or what a central control program was, much less a bit. How do you bring such a thing to life? Hand animation wouldnt have worked. The innovation is outstanding, and tho simple, 2 decades ahead of its time.
