Wow... I am overwhelmed by the support this has gotten! At first, I wasn't sure if people would be interested to the point where I'd be making more videos, but after seeing this positive response from you guys, It's safe to say more is on the way. Stay tuned! Peace and Love ✌
Hey, someone will need to pick up the slack now that Couch Tomato isn't doing it (if you had heard of that channel, it was one CinemaSins shouted out 9 years ago)
Okay, leaving aside that these types of scripts follow a predetermined structure, you managed to convince me, I will never watch one of these movies again without comparing it to the other one.
Shrek 2 is also, to some degree, a deconstruction of Beauty and the Beast. (And Little Mermaid, especially as the wish-granter is voiced by someone who originally auditioned to be Ursula) Although I'd love to hear how it's like Get Out.
I did not expect to see this as the first video on the channel, I went through the first 12 minutes thinking this was any other upload from an already established channel. Your quality is on par with well established channels. I hope your stuff comes up on my feed more often
That's brilliant, it would make sense for directors to have skeletons of scripts they can adapt to any genre but everything really lines up here. Thanks for making a video on this, I'd never be motivated enough to scour reddit boards and find this naturally. You have a good clear voice and the editing really ties everything together well. Best of luck if you decide to make another comparison video!
This is a great essay & I love the conclusion that that's okay. I get that people like variety, but it makes me laugh when they constantly go to the same well & expect something drastically different. One point worth adding is that writers only get 2 - 3% of the budget & they are often constantly having to do rewrites all the way up until the final cut goes out. They show up first, leave with the team after final wrap while having all the unique qualities whittled away. If Etan Cohen & Justin Theroux found a way to paint by numbers, I'm glad for them. It's not like the average person does anything excitingly new in there day to day grind
I left this video in my queue for way too long. I can't think of a time before now that I was excited for a NEW creator, or even a time where I stumbled across one to begin with. Incredible start, I can't wait to see more like this!
I’m not sure how I was already subscribed to this channel despite it only having one video. I’m not mad, but I’m not disappointed either. I don’t know how I got here, but I’m glad I’m subscribed
holy i watched this video not even looking at the views, chanel, or likes, i finshed it and went to drop a like. What a abslout amazing first video dude.
This is so much fun and such good quality that I was so certain that this would be a video from a well-established channel but nope! Subscribed and I can’t wait to see more!
You were my first comment! Appreciate the love. More stuff on the way, both this series and a lot of other movie stuff in general. Taking the time to make it the best it can be
@@MackinErnie can you please hurry? I really really really like this video and want to watch another one. Can you remember me when you become Mr Mackin and have 3k subs because I was your very special first comment friend ??
@@MackinErniehonestly this is brilliant, I was fully in halfway through and then got blown away with Madagascar 2 comparisons, and I hope you take the time you need going ahead. Your delivery is great and you make great comparisons, don't feel the need to rush out ideas.
Good job, looking forward to more work from you. Also good for the algorithm to bring it up, I certainly wasn’t looking for this topic, haven’t even seen anything about either of the movies in years.
This is a first video? You could easily do one about how Fellowship of the Ring and the first Hobbit movie are the exact same movie, though they're not just the same genre, but of the same universe. The parallels are endless
This is such a great video! I went to your channel to watch more from you just to find out this is your first! What a great first video can’t wait to see more from you.
