Bayshore always floods because they built that sidewalk right on top the water instead of elevating it. if they had spent the money to put in a fly over there or bridge it would not always flood.
You convinced me! You should go talk to the city or county and share your knowledge and obvious experience in road design and construction. America needs more civil engineers such as yourself!
The entire state has been declared a flood zone. With the recent timing & frequency of these dangerous storms, insurance companies are fleeing this state & so are home owners with the exorbitant housing increases; insurance & rents. Another factor is the brutal heat & relentless humidity. With these storms on the uptick, I feel as if I'm living on the razor's edge, a ticking time bomb.
What I dont understand is why, Hillsborough ave, had one lane going east/west closed because of flooding. And could not find any information in none of the local stations reporting this!. Why?.. But we report that the bridges are closed?. Sounds like the city/county is looking for more federal funds?. just saying!!
WHY cover this It isn’t exactly news it’s a given it will flood the waves are always high during a storm. Focus on areas in Tampa of importance like main roads.
You didn't have to close it, they choose to. We have to drive it all the time with a foot or 2 of water on it. Been like that for decades. Rain water from all the neighborhood streets to the east pour across there trying to get to the bay. At high tide it would have been a lot deeper.
