@@TravelwithTasha393 I knew a guy that at the time had two young kids. They lived in the Florida panhandle and Ivan was headed right at them. He decided to ride it out. I asked him if he would do it again. Hell no! he said. His house was crumbling around them and him and his kids were in a hallway with a mattress on top of them. Wouldn’t have saved anything had the place collapsed.
tasha J, hard to say. Some people actually died evacuating north out of Miami during Wilma because the eye wall expanded and they got hit by it furtger north. It is easy in retrospect to say people should have known better, but they really have very little idea about where landfall will take place untill less than 24 hours before it occurs. By then the intensity and forward motion may also be completely different than what was expected (for instance Michael).
@@the5thYearSeniors I grew up in South Florida and lived over 12 years in the panhandle near Pensacola and have seen many Hurricanes and TS’s in my life…and for sure…the only thing predictable about them is…they’re very unpredictable. One can build up rapidly and move straight at you…while NOAA is advising you to evacuate immediately…then it make a hard turn and head off somewhere else. That is mostly why people wait so long almost until it is too late. There have been so many evacuation notices (which is still a good thing that could save your life) that turn out to be un-necessary. I had gotten to the point though, if they told me to get out, I was out of there. I’ve seen what they can do. Hurricane Michael devastated the Panama City, Mexico Beach area. I was in there a few days later as part of the relief effort and there was not much that was not completely destroyed. Hardly a roof anywhere let alone power lines and the landscape was changed forever it seems…because of all of the trees that were destroyed. It will take some time for all of that to grow back. It’s totally amazing to me that there wasn’t a death toll in the high hundreds because so many tried to ride it out.
I miss Rob when he was on the air during hurricane Charlie (2004). His favorite thing to say "Big bubble of no trouble" when he talked about High pressure systems.😎

@@harryhanz1690 We live in an imperfect world is why...(if a person believes what scripture says)... as a result of Adam and Eve's sin in the garden, which God had previously warned them about not eating of the fruit of that one tree or else they would bring bad things upon themselves AND the world....An example today would be parents warning a child "not to run into the street in front of traffic", but Adam and Eve didn't listen to God's warning (God was their parent), and they ate of the tree anyway, so that is why we now have an imperfect world. Yes, God gives people a choice on whether or not to follow Him and His Word. If we believe what His Word says, God will help us through all the bad times and things we go through, if we allow Him to help us. I explained it as well as I could, but if you don't or won't believe, then I doubt any explanation anyone could give would help you understand why the world is the way it is. So in essence, it wasn't God who allowed the world to be as it is now, but mankind who allowed it, by not following the warning that was given to them if they followed their own way instead of God's way. If a child is warned about something that can hurt or harm them, and they do it anyway in spite of warnings of danger, then yes they will suffer the consequences of their own bad actions.
Not sure why but to me it just doesn’t look like it is going to turn this time. Seems like the East side seems more likely. Maybe 12 is a little too weak for a turn.
I'm not too worried about this storm weather forecasters will talk it to death before it ever gets here if you've noticed every time a major storm is coming they talk and talk and talk and talk and then nothing happens it's the storms that pop up at the last minute that does the most damage
They've improved the GFS. Let's hope it stays correct. A soft hit on the panhandle will have lesser impacts it seems, but with three steering currents in play, it's still a tricky track. Stay safe all.
This is the weather channels baby. We haven't had squat for a hurricane season this year. I'll bet those hurricane hunters are dropping so much crap out of their planes that they breakup the storm.

But in my culture that's normal... We also put babies in the microwave after a long Shower to help Dry them off . So they don't get sick or cold. We also help grandma put a plastic bag over her head so she doesn't breathe in the toxic air. She's been real quiet for the past 3 months
