This horse is a saint. All those people fuasing around, new place, new triggers on the ground, a totally tense rider... he behaved perfectly. The fact itself that we are talking about a little spook means that maybe there should be a bit more awareness and training before buying any horse

That look of pure excitement on Sophies face at the end when she says "Dad said yes" ❤❤❤ He looks like a beautiful quite boy - Sophie just needs the time to realise that horses will never be dead quiet 😁 That doesn't mean they are unsafe or not suitable for someone of her ability 😁 it simply means you are dealing with a real life being and just like people things can startle us - n okt everyone has a big huge reaction BUT it's still a reaction ;) I think once Sophie feels more comfortable with what he does and doesn't do and understands him more under saddle they will be able to form an amazing bond ❤

One thing that a friend at my barn said to me that stuck was fake it till ya make it, it means just pretend to be confident even if your nervous, being nervous can make a situation with a horse so much worse. It has helped me so much, I jumped 3.6ft and i never would have without her words of wisdom and encouragement now I am teaching a horse to jump that never has before 2 weeks ago we went to a show, 2.3ft jumper she did great 2nd place overall. we jump 3ft at home and shes so much fun. she tries so hard just as this palomino pony will for you if you get him!

Oh my god have been waiting all day for this video !!!!!! Haha you guys are awesome I love watching Gabby ride I'm 23 only just started riding again from when I was little and I just really enjoy watching watching Gabby ride, I also have a palamino they are by far the most amazing tempered horses yous have done amazing to find his boy, perfect for miss Sophie! Go for it Sophie you need to confident girl, I have been bucked off and done the exact same thing with Banjo he done a big side step and I flew off haha, you are going to fall off a million times, as an equestrian it is a dangerous sport but the more you fall off the more you prepare your self and your body will think quicker next time and stay on, you have gone through a lot and it has taken alot do guys for you to get back on any horse, remember when Storm spooked and you STAYED ON believe in yourself and you will go so far huni! That horse is perfect but no horse is 100% spook proof they are still animal and they have feelings, get a bond with him and become one together! Head up look forward be confident!

Every single horse has an odd day, it's a part of life. He is one of the most calm horses and well mannered horses I have seen none the less, and it's so ad to imagine that he wad off work for eight months! Him and Sophie would make such an amazing match, the weird thing was like a month ago I was dreaming about your family...and for some reason I saw a western palomino pony at your barn.

First. One thing I love about Stella and Willow is how well behaved they are, when they walk past the wash stall that has hay in it the don’t try eat it or anything. I think that the horse you guys were trying was a little stubborn is because Sophie was scared and horses can sense fear but Sophie is definitely getting much mor confident.The horse, his transitions look so smooth which is nice and he seems to have a nice slow canter which will be good with helping Sophie with her confidence. I love you guys so much you are awesome and so inspiring keep up all of your hard work!

No horse in the world is perfect in the sense of spooking and being in good form every day.. Horses have their bad days just like us and can spook sometimes.. That's the way horses are, even the quietest of horses spooks as some stage. Sophie just needs to understand that and after she does she'll be great little team with this palomino 😍.. Building confidence and trust is most important 🐴✨

I am not Sophia’s mother, so I can not speak on behalf of her. However it is so clear that she is a kind hearted, loving little girl. Has it been explained to her that it is a very kind thing for a horse to allow them to be a horse, and to yourself to not let the feeling of fear get in the way of doing things you are more than capable of doing? Sophie’s heart will lead her to great places, but sensitivity comes with a lot of triumph to be had. Best wishes for you and your girl!

I think this horse would be great at walk to canter transitions, and he seems like a horse that would be willing to learn. The look on Sophie’s face at the end, that’s the old Sophie. The one that wasn’t worried to ride, the one that joked around. That was the Sophie we all know and love! She knew she wanted this horse! I think it’s an amazing decision that you got him. He’s amazing! ❤️
@eril8134
@eril8134 5 лет назад
Hey Soph, a good way to think about the spooks is like this: you get scared when a horse spooks, and their spook is just them getting afraid of something too! So you just have to find your inner confidence and reassure the horse, and that will help you both feel confident and better! Remember he's not trying to scare you with his spooks! He just needs you to tell him it's okay, and he'll do the same for you!

At 13:02 he picked up that plastic sheet and immediately stopped. No spook. No fuss. No messing around. Just getting on with it. He did great with that. Just imagine when Sophie is a bit older and can go on hacks on her own and she is riding a horse and all of a sudden.. a bird flies out. If Sophie was riding this guy, I think she’d be good to go! Sophie is incredibly brave to get back on X That is the key. If you find one you trust you can overcome any falls. XX Horse riding is such a psychological sport and not everyone appreciates that. When you get those little mental blocks they completely take over. Humans and horses are both designed with self-preservation in mind, so sometimes we end up having a clash of interests. Just the other day I had to get of Alaska as she was in a spooky mindset and nothing I could do could get her to refocus on me. So I got off lunged, got back on and she was the same so called it a day. Learning what type of rider you are helps you know what you can cope with and what you need to do to help you and your horse. Anyone saying be confident it is not that simple for everyone. Congratulations if you are a naturally confident rider every person is different and has different experiences. Sophie did amazing X And well done too Gabby.

I love to see Sophie’s big smile when she was ridding that horse. I feel like you guys got him because you used the words new horse in your tittle!

I think he would be perfect for you guys, but the girls need to try not to let him stop like that because it can cause behavioural issues and that will not help Sophie’s confidence at all. I’ve been through it before with a pony and he learnt that he could stop when he thought he’d had enough, then he would kick out and threaten to rear when asked to move! It isn’t nice to deal with and it took a lot of my confidence away and I’m only just getting better now xx

He really took care of Sofia lol for a minuet I thought the video was in slow motion from how slow he was walking but I could tell Sofia would get scared when he threw his head and backed up but that’s because of her death grip lol I think she just has to get use to a horse who doesn’t need bit contact. He honestly would probably do really fantastic with a bitless if Sofia doesn’t learn to ride on a loose rein.

I think he is perfect for Sophie! Not everyday will be a good day! I think one thing that will help is loosening the reins a bit! He/she seems to be a horse that likes having his head! So maybe that will help, but otherwise I think with working him more often he will be better. And the way Sophie is begging for him is amazing! Usually same and Laura make the decision, but trust me.. if this kid is begging, let her decide! I think this is the horse 😆

Sophie only got a little upset after the pony spooked. So I'm not sure why people are saying he spooked because she was afraid. And she still overcame her fear and got right up and trotted him!

i couldn’t tell if there was one or not but, you need a half pad on that horse. i didn’t see one but i’m probably just blind but if there wasn’t one then DEFINITELY put one on since that horse hasn’t been ridden in a while so their back isn’t used to the pressure of a rider so extra support from a half pad or withrr pad is superrrr important

I think that a lot of people have troubles with new horses. I think it’s just the horse trying to adjust to the new environment and the new person riding him or her. It just takes time and it’ll help her learn.

I know that Sophie is very nervous at the moment however all horses spook!! Even the quietest of horses will spook from time to time and part of riding is being able to handle that and I hope Sophie will learn that soon!! That pony is amazing and will teach her loads and once she gets the confidence in her riding it will be a lot better!

U can’t blame the horse for spooking since they have their own mind and no ones perfect

Here’s a good tip just try to not be nervous or sad or mad bc he can feel it and he will play up and when your nerves or sad or upset he will stop for no reasons and that’s bc of the confidence so just try not be nervous
