The company should know their job and you should be able to vet them prior to install that you have confidence in them doing things correctly. You can never watch close enough... you'd need to be the sprayer. If you can't trust them don't hire them.

No. The density is off. Too thick too quick would be the first place to look. Next is off ratio, or improper mix. Foam is chemically engineered to be the proper density, so if it has gone low something major has been done by someone to get it to do that. It is the equivalent of a cracked or twisted frame on a vehicle.

Not enough info, too many variables to identify. Why is your supplier not helping you? Had you been using Open Cell and then switched? Machine can imbalance and still not error code.... What are your drum temps? Supply issues with drum pumps? What was the cell structure? Density?

@@SprayJones I mainly do roof foam in the summertime But we do some interior insulating in the winter. We have used Demilec and Carlisle . I am suspicious it has to do with the blowing agents, because we have never had an issue up until about a year and a half ago.

I am in contact with my supplier but I am having a hard time getting a hold of the right guy that can give me some sound info. I know some other guys in our area have had some serious issues with shrinkage.So I am just trying to figure out how to prevent some major liability.

Yes and no. First time this happened the manufacturer responded and within 3 months of me raising the alarm the foam was removed and reinstalled free of charge by the installer. This is rare. Second time I raised concerns I was wholly dismissed with no testing at all. There are dedicated companies in the U.S. for consumers to obtain foam testing/inspection. The SPFA maintains a list of them. I am dealing with one now to resolve my issues 9 months into this nightmare. Fortunately, most installers will settle out of court in cases like this. Unfortunately, they're installing a defective product for consumers who are none the wiser and we have to front the cost of proving their work was bad.
