My boss at work told me about a local action house that sells mostly amazon return items. Being interested in electric stuff I notices they sell a lot of hoverboards, some of witch are brand new "Not Functioning". After watching the actions for a while I noticed lots of these hoverboards end up selling for $20 or less. Well I'm always looking for 18650 cells and these hoverboards usually have 10 or 20 cells in them so I felt like it's a low risk to bid on them even if it's just for the batteries. Well I ended up winning the bid on 4 hoverboards at $17, $13, $8, and $8. So for around $50 I got 4 hoverboards. In this video you can see how I troubleshoot the hoverboard not turning on, not charging, charger not working. I should have tested the charger first. The battery was showing no voltage so I probable needed to take the battery out anyway to jump start the charging by by-passing the BMS.
