"If they ever tell my story, let them say I walked with giants. Men rise and fall like the winter wheat, but these names will never die. Let them say I lived in the time of Hector tamer of horses. Let them say, I lived in the time of Achilles." - Odysseus
That was a great line. What came to mind during that scene was Agamemnon screaming that Achilles's name will wash away like it was written on sand by the sea. But his name is the one that stood. 5 star movie and 5 star writing.
Thank you... I enjoy spending time with him and hopefully he enjoys spending time with me... it is a win win situation in my eyes... Thank you for your view and Sub.
Hi everyone. We had a really great time watching and reacting to this movie. It is more than awesome, the story, the dialog, the combat. All top tier. Hope you enjoy our reaction to the movie Troy as much as we enjoyed the movie.
Hector is way to honorable to just let his brother die, and everything else that comes with it, he knew when his brother showed him Helen on the boat his time was coming to a end. But I respect Hector as a person with conviction. Like he said, Honor the gods, love your woman, defend you country. Its polar opposite Achilles fought for his own self worth, Hector fought for his wife brother country and child. Beautiful story.
Love your comment... And i agree with you... Hector was a wonderful man... He would have made a great king. Achilles was a great warrior, But had no conviction.
I understand what you are saying but Hector's honor is strictly situational. If he was truly honorable, he'd have returned Helen. He even knew by not returning Helen that it was breaking a treaty made before the gods. And that it would damn his people to war and death. Nor would he'd have interfered in a duel of honor just because his brother was a coward. But he did anyway. He can rationalize those actions all he wants but they were his choices and honor didn't measure into them. Just the opposite.
@@AceMoonshot I don't think that any man, no matter how honorable would sit back and watch is brother die right on his feet... But I do see where you are coming from. When it comes to Helen, that I agree with you 100%... he should have returned her... but do you think that Agamemnon would have not attacked even though she was returned to his brother?
@@ThirdWorldReactions I do not think Agamemnon would have been able to unify the various Greek city states if they had returned her. And alone, he would have been impotent. Without Helen, there is no launching of a thousand ships. As to the brother, many countless men throughout history have watched their brothers, fathers and sons die in duels before their eyes. It was dishonorable to interfere in a duel unless the other side is cheating. Without the Code duello, you had nothing to prevent vendettas and conflict.
We had to reupload this video due to copyright. which is fine as this is a learning process. We also took your advice and feedback and increased the volume of the movie. Will increase the voice of the movie going forward. Thank you and enjoy.
@@ThirdWorldReactions indeed, I sort of got the impression that you had to hire Achilles and his men. To a point, I doubt he would work for the enemy but I definitely think he charges for his services
They didn’t touch on this in the movie. But Priam had fifty sons. (Plus another fifty daughters.) Troy’s future would have been very secure. With or without Hector. (So long as they kept Paris away from the throne!)🤣
I had no idea about that.... I feel better about his legacy now... But 50, danm... 50 is too many kids for one man... but in the olden ages this was common place. Paris was the cause of all the problems they faced... he and Hellen are the worst
The guy who got the Sword of Troy was Eneas, Son of Anchises and the Goddess Afrodite. He led the survivors of Troy that ackording to legend became the ancestors of the Romans.
@@ThirdWorldReactions When Troy fell, Paris was already dead. Killed by Achilles son Neoptolemos. By an arrow. Helen returned to Menelaos (Not killed by Hektor) and apparantly spent the rest of he life in a happy marriage with him. Agamenmnon was killed by his wife Klytaimnestra for sacrificing her daughter Ifigenia to the gods, and she was in turn killed by Agamemnons daughter Elektra and son Orestes as revenge for their father. Simplified. LOL. As for the jolly adventures of Odyssevs (Sean Bean) after the war, there are lots of movies and mini tv-series about that. I especially recommend the one with Armand Assante. Yes the original stories are better.
@@thomasrehbinder7722 This is amazing. The actual history is more amazing than the movie. Will have to do my research on this and learn more. Any recommended sources, preferably audiobooks, documentaries and/or lectures?
@@ThirdWorldReactions Check on anything with Homeros (Homer in English, The original writer) Lots of videos on RU-vid. There is a channel called Wanax on youtube about the Mykenian culture. And i believe the TV miniseries The Odyssey with Armand Assante is on RU-vid. Search on Archaic Greece, Mycene, Herakles /Hercules, Jason and the Argonauts. That was the generation before the Trojan war.www.youtube.com/@WanaxTV
Imagine your brother admits he stole the Mona Lisa, and it is in your car trunk right now. Every policeman in the world is looking for you two. Mailing the painting back might clear your conscience a little. But it won’t change the fact you’re a wanted man.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Really loved the movie and can get quite loud when watching movies. Some people hate it. But its all good. Glad you enjoyed it, and hope you will enjoy the ones to come in the future.
Don’t be sorry. Ignore that hater, just block him. You’re reaction is great! It is a reaction channel, if he doesn’t like it, he can just watch the movie alone or watch someone else. You’re laughter and reaction is what makes this video for me! Hence why I can come back and watch it over with clips that you reacted and laughed well. 😅 Not only that, you’re understanding of the movie while reacting is great. Ofc the father might take some time to understand that’s how it is, same when I watch movies with my dad. Also, can you guys react to Warcraft movie? It’s so underrated and not many channels reacted to it well, and I think you guys will enjoy it.
you commented twice on this 😂 aren’t you a sad fella if you don’t like it why did you keep on watching bollock get a life man and stop wasting your time criticizing others people’s reactions to media not not everyone is the same
True, since they had never actually seen the battlefield. Also, in ancient times one of the few ways a young man could make a name for himself was to go to war and return as a great warrior.
Highly unlikely any of this was historically accurate. Most everything the Greeks wrote was oracle propaganda. (The oracles are always right. Question this at your peril.) It is even debated if Homer existed. (Most likely multiple authors added to the Iliad, over a period of centuries.) There was a city named Troy. (Ruins discovered in the late 1800s.) So that much is accurate.
Thanks for the info. I read about the city of Troy, had no idea it was in present day Türkiye... always believed it was in Greece, but the maps have changed since that age. Yea... ancient history is usually made more grandiose than it actually was by the authors. Which makes sense from their point of view since they want future generations to have something to look up to.
Hi, Thanks for watching. Yes we have watched 300 and also reacted to it. Here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VbjIRGuBkfM.html
The movie takes a lot of liberties with the Trojan War story by Homer. I see why only recently have movies really committed to killing the star before act 3. After Achilles kills Hector and desecrates his corpse by dragging it behind his carriage the Gods of Troy take such offense they guide Paris’ arrow to Achilles only weak point right then and there
In this movie Paris is the character I dislike the most.... besides Hellen, no matter her beauty... Thanks for info.... Didn't see it as the gods of Troy directing hid arrow, saw it as revenge
the only thing that annoyed me about this film is the 2 people that started it paris and helena are pretty much the only 2 people left at the end off the film everyone that died for those 2 is disgusting i hope it was worth it
Man... I don't think I will ever get over my dislike for those two... especially Paris, breaking the peace his father fought and worked for for years. Bringing war and death to his shores. Those two are the worst... I can go on and on and on about my dislike for both of them. 🤣🤣🤣The fact that I. and other people, can dislike them that much shows just what a great performance they gave. The movie is truly a masterpiece.
To be honest, they BUTCHERED the Illiad in this movie... but it's an awsome one nonetheless! Keep the videos coming you guys, I really enjoy your commentary!
if you don’t like it f off and watch another reaction there are a 1000 reaction channels on youtube sure you can find one that they react the exact way you expect reactions to be bollock
So did I... It's now added to one of my favourite movies ever. Will definitely watch it again and continue to preach that Paris and Hellen are the worst.
Check out kingdom of heaven or King Arthur legend of the sword but when you do look at the contrasting characters of King Arthur and his uncle on what it means to be a true king
you guys making comments like this are so disgusting must be living very sad lives if this is how you talk about people if you don’t like their reaction go and watch others…not everyone is gonna react the same way to movies and shows ffs
True... dad an issue with the name as well when I created the channel. But I don't see the term 3rd world as offensive. It is just a term to simply define the state of an economy or nation. And a 3rd world nation can, with the right direction, move from 3rd world to first world just as U.A.E and Singapore have. And a 1st world nation can decline as well.
@@ThirdWorldReactionsplease don’t listen to these clowns it’s a reaction channel…there’s no such thing as talking to much, just react normally how you would do you can’t please everyone that watches your videos trust me some of the viewers for different reactions have different tastes some like it when you actually talk and are not silent, some hate it when you talk all the time so 😂 please just do you…reaction was great
