I have the same model , Bought it in 2001 and it still runs really good. Replaced the pump 2 years ago (about $75 on Ebay) and it ran as good as new At this rate I expect it to last another 10 years. I use it twice every year to pressure wash drive and walks. About 16 hrs run time each.
Hello John thanks for viewing! This one also has been great used it this year with one of those Surface cleaner attachments to clean the driveway kind of like a round spaceship. The pump like you replaced is mostly what will fail on these over time got this one used not running you never know what your getting but so far its been great!
I have this same model -bought it new years ago and it still runs great. But who cares about pressure washers? Look at this guy's lawn! It's amazing! Dude, maybe make a lawn care video... I would give anything for a thick lawn like that!
Keep that wheeled platform. I was given a 2017 Troy-Bilt Honda powered with twin solution tanks, a shattered pump and missing nozzles. All of which I remedied. I priced a like unit between $350-$400. Problem is the wheeled frame was changed, no longer like yours, pump mounted underneath and engine a vertical configuration. A great unit, however when you try to pull or push across a non-putting green lawn, the solution tank valves get torn off. Thanks. Narragansett Bay
Just brought the same model for $30, because it would not start. Got it home and found it had brand new spark plug no compression. Found a youtube video ( @ ) on freeing a stuck valve on a GCV160 engine (vertical shaft model, almost the same as the gc160). Found stuck intake valve. Tapped it, and it started first pull. Had to run some carb cleaner through before it ran well.... Note to self... Owner manual says to put some oil in spark plug hole, and pull starter without spark plug wire attached as preparation for storage. (as well as running gas dry or putting oil stabilizer in ) ........ Or, a valve may stick. Oh, pumps, even an upgrade to 3000 psi can be got for $80 or so on Amazon.
Hi UhBuddy thanks for viewing! Yes quite a find and have used it several times already cleaning a driveway it did a great job and has continued to start easy as well. Others broken junk as they call it sure can be treasures, you take care.
wondering what the model number is,, ive had the same machine for nearly 20 years and my label has scratched off, would like a new pump,, this information would be useful if possible thanks
Kinda late its 2024 but can this pressure washer be turned into a generator? I seen a video with the honda gc160 engine but it was a generator not a pressure washer. And i need the generator upgrade any details?
I have this same pressure washer except it's a 2600 PSI, same Honda engine. Just yesterday I used it for the first time this season and oil is leaking . Haven't found exactly from where, but it looked bad and also as if it was milky in color. Does that sound like anything any of you have seen. I'm going to head out now to start maybe taking it apart and looking, nothing much to do while being cooped up caus e of this d?$#m virus thing. Any advice will truly be appreciated.
sounds like a busted head gasket, water + oil = milk,, surely youve figured that out by now, but ive had this same machine for nearly 20 years no joke, and just now looking for a new pump ,
Hey guys I was wandering if I could get some help if you to at 4:04 I was wandering what the balck plastic thing on the water pump is called because the one on my lower broke off so if anybody could help me find out what it is
Hello Diana thanks for viewing! This 5HP Honda engine requires a 10w-30 motor oil and should take about 20 ounces of oil. I really like the Castrol brands, the conventional Castrol GTX 10w-30 will work just wonderful in your engine!
Pump is pos. The plug is plastic and Allen wrench just slips and started to strip plug as it's so tight.so no way to change pump oil unless you destroy plug and get a new one.
