Nice unit, got one on ebay; found it works best outside at night

Love mine. It's amazing outside on a 100-foot long wire! OK indoors. But it really excels outside. Great battery power that lasts for weeks! As already said, I change the temp to use the strength indicator. Between some bands on SW, I search in slow steps of 5, I find more stations that it seems to skip on automatic.

I believe the temperature is sensed by an internal sensor. So room temp in your situation

Radiwow is the parent company of the XHDATA D-808, & the SIHUADON D-808 as well as the RADIWOW R-108 & the SIHUADON R-108. The XHDATA D-808 is an older model with a white display light while the SIHUADON D-808 is the company's newest model in a black case with an amber light display which I personally like better! Both radios are identical in features, specs, etc.! Radiwow is making quality portable radios indeed! I perhaps might order a SIHUADON D-808 in the very near future! By the way I did purchase the newer SIHUADON R-108 model which I am truly enjoying its radio sensitivity & selectivity! Thanks, hamrad88, for your very informative video regarding the XHDATA D-808! I'm rather new at these new models.. I have been out for over 20 years.. why does it only scan on SW up to 26000, and not go all the way to 29999? I am looking at this model, vs the Eton Elite Executive. They both have the same functions, just trying to figure out how they work before ordering. From what I see, after a scan, you push 0 for the page, then numbers for each saved frequency. So if you want the 23rd saved frequency, you press page, and then 23? Can't you press 0, or whatever page you want, and use tuning knob, or up and down arrows to scan thru saved frequencies? My PL-380, after a scan, you just turn knob to go thru the saved frequencies. I'm thinking the Executive might be a bit simpler for me.

I just bought this radio and regret it. I have owned a lot of radios over the years but never had one that sounded this bad and harsh on the ears. Also the SSB filters don’t work and do nothing, and the chuffing when tuning is ridiculous.
