Very impressed with the way these guys handle business, as usual. From quick recognition and addressing of priorities, to verbalizing important info (water supply handled, difficulty clearing ceiling from above necessitating saw work inside, to the IC releasing un-needed companies quickly to cover a city stretched thin. A top notch organization.
Agree 100% JBart3112, it refreshing to see fires on you tube handled by professional firefighters, tactics spot on!, I love the way SFD uses the fan, I have seen so many other fire departments " just not get it" when using the fan...If fire is not knocked completely down, turn that fan on and see what happens..lol
Another excellent fire video. The videos by this department have got to be the best out there! Excellent information and editing: using videos from citizens as well as firefighters; using google to get pre-incident views of the location; informative text throughout. Whoever makes these is THE BOSS! Please keep making these videos. Thank you!!
Great job. Remember the Orange County FD (CA) experience of an unexpected failure in the structure that led to collapse and FF's down. After Engineers and Battalion Chiefs couldn't assist in rescue due to radiant heat, it was determined that all on scene, wear full turnouts until the fire was knocked down. Thank you Jack McFadden for your moving presentation...
seems like 12 fire stations covering 300K+ population is really stretching SFD's resources very thin, and hopefully the city will be able to recover financially and invest more resources into additional fire stations.
Taxpayers would never allow that, that's why fire, police departments don't have the manpower or equipment they need to do the job, taxpayers complain about funding the fire department then complain when they don't have the man power to do the job.
These guys are great. I have a question though. Obviously no one was home. So when they are ready to leave, do they board up the house, call the police to secure the house or just leave?
the people of Stockton should be proud to have you and should fight for more staff !!! SAME STAFF AS 197 7yet 4x the calls what is wrong with those who hold the purses!!!!1.
I see a lot of references to "guys" and "bros" Isn't there any sisters on this dept? These Firefighters are one of the best as far as fast aggressive interior attacks go. Keep up the good work.
Are fire departments in California always municipal or county owned? We have fire protection districts here and it lets the fire department put their own tax measures on ballots directly. Also, they have their own board of directors and don't answer to cities. Some are city owned, but the fire protection districts generally seem to work better as the FD isn't just another city department fighting for city dollars.
