Truck driver’s DON’T have to become owner operators to have ownership | Real Talk 💯 

We are the same age with the same mindset. I actually started following you. I don’t know maybe half a year ago and I’m not even in trucking, but I can tell that you are like-minded and a great follow. I have several side hustles, mostly in the gig economy and I do the same thing with investing.

Investing is a “get rich slow” scheme. I have around $35k in a Roth and $60k in an individual brokerage account, so $95k & change total. A lot of people say that you want to hit the $100k milestone as soon as possible, as interest really starts to compound after that.

My wife makes 123,400 a year and I make 74000 driving locally in raleigh nc. I went back to school at community College to learn construction. We live off one income and I use my income to build our new home. We will have 300,000 equity when complete. When we sell, i will have enough money to build one new house a quarter and be my own bank and quit driving tractor trailer

So how do I get into those stocks who would I talk to where would I start

Self employed vs business owner is too different things. One still has to go out and do the day to day task. The other has employees do that task and pays payroll. If you don’t want to do either, you can always invest!! Real estate, stocks, gold, other peoples businesses. Etc.

Yeah get into real estate and be an owner operator and invest into stocks and the roth ira and stocks and high yeald savings account will help you out in the long run I'm saving now I'm in my mid 20s and I save 80% of my money from my check

You've been preaching this for a minute man! I'm not part of this but it applies to anybody. What you're saying is very true. I have friends who have benefited from these recommendations. 20 years later he's 700,000 in the bank and retired at 57. It's possible man. What i would say about ur channel and DB is that yall do give helpful content. I was fortunate to have my father that basically forced me into buying etf’s and index funds when i was 18 and purchasing my first home at 21 and i didnt realize how buying and keep buying and holding on to it would benefit until i hit 28/29. I honestly didnt know it was that many men and women of color not investing for their future until maybe during the pandemic. I honestly never thought about it i guess, or maybe i just felt everyone was doing it because before the pandemic that wasnt a conversation we as african Americans had on youtube i guess. But i wld say your content does bring value to the culture, and u seem genuine about helping ppl. Even though i had multiple trucks and independent for 17years, my networth today didnt come from trycking, it came and grew from ownership in stocks, bonds, real estate, and commodities i like. I work for walmart now and if i cld go back 17years i wld start and stayed with walmart getting that dollar for dollar match and i wld still have my same Lifestyle that i have today. So ppl understand being an independent operator is good when its good, but its bad when its bad but buying into a roth at $500 a month and matching a 401k, and owning a home wld get u where u want to be in 18yrs….i promise!
