I am very impressed. I have always wondered what it would be like to drive a truck. It seems like a very huge mystery and it still does but thank you for the inside look that you just demonstrated. It's fascinating. I can't wait for more videos.
And when you learn to combine your shifting you will gain about 1 more MPG under acleration. You do know you are not obligated to use all the gears but meant to combine according to load/ terrain. Hats off for the rag, great to see you take care of the rig
Theres nothing hard about this. Same as a normal 13 speed just instead of the red button, he put the splitter on a stick to make it "look cooler". He probly wouldn't know what to do with a real 6x4 or any kind of real 2 stick
The coolest model of Freightliner ever built and this example is a real credit to you mate... love ya style and driving attitude... clean and smooth.... Keep living the dream mate... Cheers Cheers from NewZealand.
@@yoyo5069 good on ya Robert... that will be why he purchased a brand new trailer and the first thing he did was replace the mudflaps with a brand new set of 'Freightliner' ones..... I would suggest you have a close look and do some homework mate... LMAO ;-)
Bruh! I dig your truck. Everyone gives love to Petes n W900L. But my fav is the timeless XLC/12.7. It's time to think about all new weather stripping around windows n doors just to make the driving experience that much better. Keep on trucking 👍🏽
Moving the main box into neutral and then back into the same gear when you make a spliter shift is not needed if you have a updated K3331 Spliter piston cover. You cut the number of times the mainbox sliding clutches need to move in half. Beautiful truck you have, nice to see the pride!
I think I'll make a video of me heel and toeing down shifting with the Jake brakes on. It's a lost art among the steering wheel holders we have driving now. Clean truck man.
It's a normal 13 speed he put the splitter that's normally on the side of the shifter on an air valve in floor with a big stick attached to it. High low range selector is probably on the dash didn't pay much attention. Nice clean truck.
Killer truck. Great shifting, but the second stick makes it look more complicated than it is. It just replaces the splitter that is usually a switch mounted on the shift knob. Gotta admit, it looks damn cool though.
Well the second stick is actually useless. All he did was make it to shift split of a 13 speed transmission. So really he's shifting the main stick more then needed. You don't have to go back to neutral to make that shift. The transmission will make the shift once you left off the throttle. So basically this is a lot of wasted movement. No I am not impressed
Ohhhh okay I was mad confused because my 18 speed just shifts into high and lows for me. I see now that you have to take it out and into gear again for the switch. Much easier than my brain wanted me to believe.
once again, nice video. Love what you're doing with your truck. It's unique and looks great. reminds me of what trucking used to be and what it should still be.
@@tylercouture216 Its too bad really. Trucks made these days to basically do everything except steer. trucks used to be a thing of pride, kinda like how the harleys are in the bike world. Now it seems to be all about fuel economy and how much money the company can yield from each load.
Muchas felisidadez mi amigo eiver2 la verdad muy padre ese tablero y sobrtodo uno se enamora al oir esa potente maquina! Muchas felisidadez !!!!✌✌✌✌✌👍😀😀
Why do I feel like you're about to tell me that the IRS is going to reward me with money for being a responsible tax payer... nice try, I'll give you that
Been driving 37 plus years! Got to drive some cool trucks, lots of different transmission! Still think this stuff is so cool 😎 even though I drive an auto shift now! Life rolls on!
Looks like you merican truckers are like Shiva's. I can't f... figure out how you drive those magnificent rigs. It's amazing. Cheers from a fellow semi trucker from Eu!!! ps: This guy must be like Turbo, ya know that speeding snail with his eyes on top of large antennas lol !!! From the camera perspective it looks like moving a submarine.

Al ver como limpias ese volante me doy. Cuenta que yo hice MAL Con no limpiarlo así! 🤦🏻♂️ lo eche a perder.. Congratulations brother! You are awesome.. God Bless you.
luke kilah the hard part is the upkeep! With the rep there is responsibility ! My hats off to all drivers who deliver our goods but love the ones who do it in style!
I just want to know how many times you've been into the shift tower to replace springs and bushing. Just how long does the fingers in the trans last with that long of a shifter?
I couldn't drive a semi like that when I can't see over the dashboard. It was like riding in my uncle's 1983 Peterbuilt. The hood of the truck was blocking my view.
Anthony Bird what? Two sticks on the air? Gaining nothing! Put a set of boxes in it then do your little shifting video. If he can shift it at least will actually gain a lot of pulling power!
I wouldn’t know what to do first hand at all with all the gear and not 1 stick but 2 I give so much respect to truck drivers bein able to drive these things and having to know how to operate all this while driving and carrying trailer on the back while at it
i've been amazed by you great truckers... thank you for the vid. btw, how do you remember in what gear is the transmission in? is there any indicator on the dashboard that shows you? drive safe!
I use to have and fld120 with an 18 double over. I decided to go with a new volvo and it's way more comfortable and it's an automatic, I drive Chicago city traffic all the time
he's got it setup on a air splitter to run part of his 13spd transmission. most 13spd are 2 air switches on one head on one shifter. the true old scholl trans used 2 trans and 2 shifters and if tou didn't catch that double gear shift you started over from a stop.
